Most academics don’t retire—they take. life-long sabbatical.

And don’t forget the crews. I would imagine that working on an oil tanker is hard and dangerous enough without the threat of dying in a missile strike or drone attack. A lot of workers will say thanks but no thanks.
Having RS jack up three pointers or find open shooters is not a bad offense.
I live in California, but have family in Texas that I visit often. I wish I could vote for him!
And Claude is such a great name for the AI avatar/interface. It just sounds cheerful, friendly, and non-threatening. Brilliant marketing.
I feel so sorry for all the scammers and crimes lords who now see all their ill-earned gains evaporate before their eyes. Tragic. Once again, high finance screws over the working man…
Reversion to the mean!
My interpretation: an insanely road-heavy schedule culminated in the first half of January, leaving the team with heavy legs and a prolonged teamwide shooting slump. Injuries to Eason and Sengun didn't help, and they lost some of their o-rebounding edge. They will finish strong, health permitting.
Agreed. And the elite Catholic school (central to the plot )is a unique take on religion in the small-town South.
It is pretty bad, but stick with it to the bitter end. There is a "killer" twist at the end that partially redeems the show.
The show as a whole is an uneven mix of unfunny comedy and tension-free drama, mixed with a healthy dose of meaningless platitudes. Other than that, it’s solid.
It worked great against the Pels, but against better defenses you might need to sub Shep for Okogie for more shooting and ball-handling. The defense, though, will take a hit.
There is tension between the Wall Street belief that "AI will transform the economy" and the Wall Street belief that "firms will hire next year." I don't see how the two could be true at the same time, at least in the short run.
I'm a bit surprised we haven't seen more of Holiday--Reed looks tired after 30 minutes last night.
You deserve a break! And you can use the time off to write "Why I Was Wrong About the Rockets" piece for the Athletic.
You were saying…
To your point, Reed works well with Adams because of those monster screens.
Rockets low energy at the start of the half.Sloppy passing and non-existent close outs
“Can the Rockets survive the non-Sheppard minutes?” Is a totally legit question
I would rank Northwestern among the better schools with a secondary intercardinal direction in its name.
But the defense was truly excellent. Cleveland has no clue against the double bigs.
A total FAFO game for Denver. Makes me feel even better about our win over Orlando, which was a similar type of game.
Sengun will be key for the Rockets. Not sure Portland has anybody who can guard him.
It would be interesting to develop a list of elite NBA “culture fixers.” You have to be at least a starting caliber player—or else nobody will listen to you—and have a tremendous work ethic and vocal leadership skills.
My barber doesn’t follow politics, doesn’t know Taylor Swift, and barely knows sports. We spend a lot of quiet time together. It’s heavenly.
Honest question: what is the probability that Reed turns out to be a better shooter over his career than Klay Thompson? I’d say the chances are low, but certainly not zero.
I always find Craig’s FT defense amusing.
They are pretty even-handed in their calls as well. They don’t hesitate to criticize the Rockets when the team plays poorly.
You'll enjoy the game. Reed was great--he kept us in the game when things seemed to be slipping away.
I think he needs to start. Without a true point guard, I don't think we have quite enough ball handling and shooting to withstand pressure from elite defenses (OKC, DET, SA).
That Rockets cleaned up on the offensive glass without Adams is telling. Did not understand the strategy of double-teaming Durant every possession. You have to vary your defensive schemes at some point
Great to have Jabari back. We clearly missed his shooting against Dallas, and having him start allows Tari to be the sparkplug off the bench. With Adams out, we could see some "small-ball" Rockets with Jabari at the 5.
Go Rockets!
The Rockets really regressed tonight:
*Poor FT shooting (20-30, 67%)
*Poor 3pt shooting (8-29, 28%)
*17 TOs
*Got outhustled several times by an undermanned Dallas team.
We'll take the win, but the Rockets won't get away with playing that poorly against most teams.
