Ford fed into the “cash grab” narrative, which was covered by media, despite having this report’s words of caution three years earlier. “So to hear a premier just keep repeating that misnomer again and again is beyond disappointing.”

If you told me I'd be featured on CBC's The Current with @mattgalloway.bsky.social in a TikTok video pretending to be Doug Ford saying "Tell them I’ll drop Advil and pencils out of my private jet while I fly over them like the world’s wealthiest bird" I'd, uh, believe you

Hi Jonny, while it was known prior to COVID that viruses could be spread through the shared air on airplanes despite cabin air filtration, it’s more obvious now because of the ongoing pandemic itself.

The covid virus (SARS-CoV-2) continues to mutate, circulate, and repeatedly infect people.

Yeah, I'm real tired of this narrative that disabled people "enjoyed" lockdown. Lockdown sucked. It just sucked less than dying of COVID, a thing the abled world doesn't care about anymore.

I'm also tired of abled people mourning their time in lockdown more than they mourn the 1.2 million dead.

COVID is still spreading.
COVID is bad for you.
Don’t get COVID.
Get vaccinated.
Wear an N95 in indoor public spaces.
Clean the air we all breathe.

Study links long COVID in kids to worse grades, attention, and social life

Wondering if it will wind up the parent chat group enough to get me booted out if I put the article about long COVID and school grades in there... 👀

Tons of research since 2020 points to Covid causing cognitive decline, affecting memory, attention, and executive function. It’s criminal that schools don’t clean the air and it’s negligent of public health to have led everyone to believe Covid is just a cold when it’s causing so much damage 🧵👇

Randall Denley: Ontario's complicated, fractured school system is about to get worse Some communities will get full trustee representation, while others will have limited trustee roles or none at all

"School trustees did have one useful role that Calandra might well come to miss. When parents were dissatisfied with schools, education ministers have always been able to blame school boards. With most trustees now powerless, that option is no longer available."

It’s not "normal" to pretend a disease doesn’t exist—or nothing can be done to reduce harm.

Leaving kids, communities, and ourselves exposed isn’t “moving on,” it’s neglect, coerced, morally repugnant, indifference.

If that upsets you, ask yourself: are you an arseolist?

👏 Canada 👏 Post 👏 is 👏 a 👏 public 👏 service 👏

Nothing proves how capitalism has brain rotted everyone than thinking the post office, hospitals, public transit, libraries, etc. need to turn a profit to be worthwhile.

People saying things like “Remember back during COVID…”/“that was terrible” reminds me of the end of a horror movie after the protagonist thinks they’ve finally vanquished the killer, and then up he pops again. Unless you’re still actively protecting yourself, you’re not safe.

COVID-19 is still spreading. Respirator masks are still one of the simplest ways to reduce risk, for you and the people around you.

Anyone who has celebrated this policy shift to pDST, i hope you now understand Smith is doing this to benefit big business & capital, not human health. Especially not children's health

I wonder whether it has anything to do with the damage that repeated COVID infections do to the immune system. The article neglected to mention that as a possible factor. Real life @thev.bsky.social.

Personally I would consider whether repeated and constant exposure to a disease known to cause brain damage and cognitive/concentration difficulties might be, you know, doing those things.

Cool. So, a) actually correct those weaknesses rather than pushing for *more* integration (especially on fossil fuels), and b) actually be transparent and make your actions match your speeches.

Repeated COVID (infections) are ruining education.

People like to attribute kids failing to do the work to the few months they spent at home in 2020. Choosing to ignore that Covid causes measurable brain impairment and cumulative cognitive deficits in not only adults, but children too.
