I haven’t been able to work for over a month while waiting on SSDI. I have a critical appointment Wednesday 3 hours away, and the travel + costs are overwhelming. Any help means so much. 💙

I recently received lab results for myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), which worsens my prognosis.
A PET scan showed malignancy. Treatment is complicated by coexisting autoinflammatory diseases. Your donation will help cover rent and essential bills while I prioritize my health. gofund.me/44385476

Hello everyone, I started a fundraiser on GoFundMe and would appreciate your support. Every single share and donation will help me with COBRA payments so I don't lose my medical care while I deal with cancer treatments and missed time at work.

I wish Bluesky wasn't so similar to Twitter. I sort of hate the character limits and seriously can we be more different than Twitter.
We should all be asking these questions. The erosion of scientific freedom and medical ethics isn’t just an issue for researchers—it impacts the future of healthcare, public health, and the well-being of millions of people.
If funding is being weaponized, who decides what research is allowed?
If hospitals cave under pressure, who else will be abandoned next?
If evidence-based care is sacrificed, how far will it go?
This would set a dangerous precedent where healthcare decisions are dictated by political funding threats instead of medical necessity.
Cutting gender-affirming care could lead to increased suicide rates among trans youth.
If hospitals make this decision to preserve research funding, they are sacrificing human lives in favor of institutional survival.
Private donors may withdraw funding due to pressure from anti-trans movements.
Legislative proposals have attempted to defund hospitals and universities that provide gender-affirming care.
Some states have moved to ban Medicaid reimbursements for gender-affirming care.
Certain federal grants and partnerships could be at risk if hospitals face political backlash.
Why Should We Be Concerned?
This isn’t just about one issue—this is about political control over science, medicine, and research:
If hospitals are forced to choose between life-saving care and funding for essential research, that is an unacceptable moral and ethical crisis.
