πŸ’―!!! This international interference is completely unacceptable

Let's not pretend that the United States hasn't been doing international terrorism for the last 150 years. There is just more of a spotlight on it now. Behind every struggling country crippled by debt and dictatorship, there is often a British or American influence to get it there.

"For this discovery of yours will create forgetfulness in the learners' souls, because they will not use their memories." - Socrates

This statement was about the use of written word, but you could easily apply it to concerns about #AI. Every invention has its tradeoffs and its critics.

Can they unconfirm it?

Can Douglas Coupland please write another book in the spirit of MicroSerfs and jPod? I think enough has happened in software development to warrant it...

NGL this is actually a skill that serves me well. I oftentimes struggle to recall specific words so I just use similar sounding words (real or not) in a confident voice. I channel my inner edward norton from Glass Onion

One piece of advice I always give people about using an AI as a source of information is to ask it the same type of generic questions about a subject you're an expert in. You'll very quickly se inaccuracies and you'll be far more careful about checking sources.

Below deck has made me feel that we need to create further shows where we just watch people try to do their jobs while dealing with incompetent coworkers and completely unhinged guests.

At the same time, it seems disingenuous for people to shit on openclaw for acting without the users consent when the majority of computer users have no clue what their machines are actually doing...

I'm definitely intrigued by what OpenClaw can do. But I also know my own track record, and I guarantee I'd inadvertently use it to shoot my personal security in the foot. #AI #Openclaw

Meanwhile, every engineer I know is just praying that AI finally teaches these PMs enough basics so they'll stop asking if Llama can help them build "Uber for [Niche Bullshit]" in a single weekend. We're not at the "magic wand" stage of the SDLC yet, despite what the LinkedIn influencers told you.

Product managers will literally try to boil the fucking ocean if they think it’ll get some mediocre, half-baked design live in 99/100th of the time. It’s a special kind of "optimization" that leaves everyone else drowning in technical debt.

We had this discussion at work the other day. If everyone gives an LLM bullet points to turn into an email, and the recipient uses a LLM to summarize the email into bullet points, why don't we just communicate in bullets?

I've been a windows user for over 30 years but for the first time I'm considering dipping into the Mac ecosystem. I've never fretted over a decision this much.

Considering you've postes reviews that promote the idea of invading Canada, maybe THR should take a similar approach and avoid discussing politics you've cleaned up your staff.

Compromising on political beliefs is a ballsy topic for you to cover when you employ a MAGA Republican questioning the sovereignty of Canada.

Maybe stick to reviewing government propaganda until your clean up your act.
