Main text:
Hello, Being in jail has force me to take a deep look at who I am. I wish I didn’t have to always obtain my knowledge through painful ignorance, but I guess we’re not all meant to learn the easy way. I have an inquiring mind with a deep- seeded need to know why things are the way they are. The clouds that overshadow some of my days are small, with lavish silver linings. I am particularly adept in any situation, getting a few things wrong here, solving them there. Social concern looms large in my mind with a desire to help people. My biggest flaw is that I put the needs of others before my own. I’m still finding out the hard way that my heart is bigger than my brain.

Image with same layout as previous. Main text: I have three beautiful kids that absolutely mean the world to me. So, I’m unapologetically committed to being the best version of myself for them to have someone to look up to. That starts with the small things that often times get overlooked, like listening. I have learned so much from my kids from just listening to them. Most parents (including
mine) and people in general don’t listen. They wait to talk and abandon listening all together.

are Honesty, Trust, and Loyalty. I spend my days reading, studying, and working out. Some of my interests are cooking, movies, and music. I’m really easy to talk to, and would love to get to know you, if I’ve peaked your interest.

The ability to speak two language has made me very world-mindful. I am a careful and analytical individual who's ready to jump in and help, often coming up with quick solutions. I'm a collectivist, I rather cooperate than compete which gives me a better understanding of myself. I dread letting people down in any kind of setting whether it's family, a team, or myself. I enjoy feedback because I'm always on the quest to improving myself and becoming a better version of me.

In Mass, we're fighting a new women's prison compound that includes therapy rooms+ SUD treatment. The recent DOC strategic plan includes concerning language about mothers in prison bonding with infants. The right thing to do is send mentally ill mothers home, not to paint prison walls pink #mapoli

Graph showing that in jails, the most effective treatment options are the least accessible for people with opioid use disorder

Graph showing that in jails, the most effective treatment options are the least accessible for people with opioid use disorder

MYTH: Some people need to go to jail to get treatment

REALITY: Most people in local jails have substance use disorders, yet only a tiny fraction of jails provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid use disorder.

Jails are designed for punishment, not care.

BREAKING: After ProPublica published letters written by children at the Dilley concentration camp, ICE officers raided the dormitories and confiscated the children's letters. I'm suing ICE to get them back. I'll explain it all in 45 minutes on @meidastouch.com here: www.youtube.com/live/H-D8SzR...

Incarcerated members tell us what it feels like to see another person on your unit kill themself. It feels like you might be next. And incarcerated people are clear who is to blame: MA DOC drives people to suicide. It is past time to end segregation and solitary and release SMI prisoners! #mapoli

Massachusetts remains the only blue state with a 287g agreement. Our Department of Corrections regularly collaborates with ICE, turning people who have done their time (and often lost status during it) over to be deported.

@massgovernor.bsky.social must end the DOC's 287g agreement! #mapoli

Q. How short is a short reading?
A. Incarcerated people in MA can only receive 5 sheets of paper at a time. All our readings will be 10 pages or less. We have had to do a little creating margin-moving and abridgements.

We're so thankful to the Booksmith for donating hundreds of cards and stamps to connect incarcerated people on their birthdays. These are sometimes the only cards incarcerated people get recognizing that they lived through another year.

About pen-pals Learn about being a pen-pal to a person incarcerated in Massachusetts.

The thing we need most is committed pen-pals up for on-going conversation. Being a pen-pal can be life-changing for a person who has never seen incarceration up close. For someone in the belly of the beast, a window to the outside world can be life*saving*.

We will provide the readings in PDF packets. The 5-sheet page limit is due to Massachusetts mail rules on the number of sheets of paper an incarcerated person can receive. Mail rules make it harder to connect across walls.
