ahh, yep!
Noobow itself is an absolutely wonderful game.

The new Bsky update rolls out image carousels, including for desktop.
Multi-image posts no longer have all thumbnails immediately visible, now requiring click & drag in order to browse. Otherwise you must expand + click through.
It also messes with any posts relying on the old way thumbnails tiled.
oh no
ohhh nooo
ahh, yep. at risk of sounding like an old curmudgeon, NND back then was incomparable.
the creativity on display and ridiculous array of memes and in-jokes are so nostalgic.
quite a few creators have moved over to other sites, but it's not the same...
Mushihimesama's true last boss: Aki and Akka.
The JoJo's Bizarre Adventure "To Be Continued" meme, showing one of the first patterns that Aki and Akka hit you with. There's a lot of bullets. Just imagine Roundabout by Yes playing.

Day 186 of posting games I own.
This time, Neues for Playstation.
In this raising sim/novel game, the unsociable Sius, who works in forestry management, finds a bio-android girl who has been promised by a goat-unicorn in her dreams that the next time she awakens she will become human.
I feel. I had multi-year urges for Chunithm and SDVX each time my Japan trips ended.
Explains why I rarely pass up an opportunity to stop by an arcade nowadays. Gotta make the most of it!
glorious
it really is a wondrous grab-bag of Heisei-era references, memes, and eroge OPs
it was my introduction to ave;new, and I'm sure many others' as well
I definitely recommend a spin on SDVX. It's my current fave and just emanates that high energy.
My only experience with Project Diva and its counterparts has been on PSP/Vita, so one day I'd love to approach one of the arcade cabs when it doesn't already have a pro rocking it.
Complete with cool sunglasses, thumbs-up, and floating "WOW!" text, I would hope.
The review gives Magical Chase a perfect score, so I'll let the (likely tongue-in-cheek) reference to it as "yet another Parodius clone" slide.
"WOW!"
Indeed, Zonk. Magical Chase is a "WOW!" game for sure.
Excerpt of a scanned page showing a review for 1991 PC Engine (and TurboGrafx) game Magical Chase. The game logo is featured, next to which handwritten text reads: "Yet another Parodius clone where you play the part of a witch on a broomstick!! Excellent sprites and animation help to compile a game which is a welcome variant on a well-worn genre. A game which is quite underated (sic). Can't see why." The game rating is a 9 (out of 9) with an illustration of mascot character Zonk giving a giant thumbs-up, the word "WOW!" above his head.
Handwritten review of Magical Chase from 1993 fanzine publication The Complete PC Engine Guide Book.
Based on the credits, the written text is by author Richard Gibbs, while I assume the hand-drawn Zonk giving a thumbs-up is illustrated by Steff Mills.
Do note the score of 9 is out of a max of 9!
to make a very rough and imperfect analogy, imagine if typing "pre" made autosuggest default to "prep school" versus something remotely reasonable like "preview" "prepare" or even "press"
this is on fresh settings with typing history and custom dictionaries turned OFF, cleared, and reset
hey Microsoft IME, in what universe will I ever prefer 私大 over 次第 as the first suggestion when typing シダイ
is it the same universe in which you disabling Private Mode upon every reboot is seen as a good idea
Game: Silent Hill Developer: Konami Platform: Playstation 1 📺: Sanyo DS24425
but that's impossible
対魔忍 fans are unfamiliar with the very concept of shame
With game centers that stay open late, they're perfect to wrap up a full day of sightseeing or shopping or other activities.
They're a reliable good time in my book.
Ooh, living the dream!
I'm not too knowledgeable about Project Diva, but what model cab is it? IIRC, there are a few variants with different button styles, right(?)
My aspiration is a Sound Voltex Valkyrie cab. HRR screen, RGB lighting, and speakers capable of blowing out my ears if maxed out.
Bless Kumikyoku Nico Nico Douga. Really captures the spirit of the day in roughly ten minutes of catchy motifs.
I was in awe the first time I heard it.
The artist that put it together, simoyuki, still makes arrangements and original tunes to this day.
And they draw, too. Incredible talent.
Extra utility: depending on your circumstances, you might have a local arcade that accepts these cards, assuming the cabs are legit and connected to official servers. For example, some of the rhythm games at Round 1.
There's some technicalities involved, so double-check your specific game/region.
I spent countless credits playing on Guest Mode, thinking "it's not worth it, I'm only here for a week, then I'm returning home"
Well, joke's on me, because I'd end up doing a few more Japan trips afterwards. Eventually I did buy an Aime card (or two)
Saving your settings and progress is so comfy.
If you're visiting an arcade in Japan and find yourself playing the same game more than a couple times…
Let me be the one to push you: buy an arcade IC card. Two minutes of effort and ¥300 will let you save your game data.
At best it'll be useful on return trips. At worst it's a cool souvenir.
Yeah, I think Dimps' later games benefited from dev experience on Nintendo handhelds.
More knowledgeable Sonic fans can call me out if I sound crazy, but I think the Advance games are like a foil to Sonic on Game Gear. Advance levels are dense, more stuff going on, with the same amount of crunch.
I'm terrible at 2D Sonic but I had fun with the Sonic Advance games. Colorful. Great-feeling controls.
The small screen space felt a little limiting though, so I personally prefer Dimps' later Sonic Rush games for DS. More room to spread their wings, IMO.
But also I have zero 2D platformer cred 🤷
me: I don't consider myself a tinkerer, I just want things to work out of the box
also me whenever there's a game I want to play that doesn't instantly work on Linux:
Just a closer look at some of the critters in the game, this time a cute round spider made out of a flat texture of a circle, with two red also flat round circle textures and eight polygonal sticks moving around like paddles on a big ship, making it look like the cutest lil' spider you ever did see.
Another one is an angry ladybug with inverted colors, black body with red spots because it's been made evil by the evil magic or whatnot, with green triangular evil eyes and human teeth, but it's mostly like a cube so it kinda looks like one of those novelty digital radio clocks.
Yet another one is a beautiful pink princess bird, a round blob of feathers with a red crown, its entire body also being its head with crossed eyes, little yellow beak and little wings and legs, swinging on a wooden swing on a tree and actually farting if you get too close to it.
As you gather the crystals and lift the curse, the world becomes beautiful again with a nice grassy lawn with the ladybug looking more lady-like (still an angry face though) and a cute green snail slowly going about its busyness.

Absolutely. The final moments of 3.0+1.0 will stick with me forever, and it was a powerful case of me reading the right message out of it at the right time for me.
"Go outside and take the damn train to somewhere new" and then I went and did that. It was a perfect fit.
I have no grand, profound conclusion to make here.
Evangelion means a lot of things to a lot of different people around the world. Across a very long span of time too―a fact I'm becoming increasingly aware of.
More than the specific work of fiction chosen, I just like the chance to reflect a bit.
It's not something so clickbait-y as "Evangelion fixed my emotions"
Rather, each time I watch the anime or one of the films for old times' sake, my current point in life inevitably pops up as a passing thought
It's seen me through college, work difficulties, and now a whole overseas relocation.
Evangelion is a series that I return to every 3-5 years.
Each time I do, I'm in a wildly different place in life.
I think a lot of people have a work of fiction they can use as a sort of sounding board as they process stuff.
Eva's definitely one of them to me.
