Thanks! Yeah, I've found if it's inbetween dry and wet it pulls the layer up. When I get to layer 5 it just doesn't want to dry, waiting a week+ inbetween layers even with driers!
I've heard printing a layer a day, wet on wet, works well, wanted to get some more opinions though ๐

Printmakers! I'm having trouble with ink drying when doing reductions...
Do you print when the previous layer is completely dry or still tacky?
Artists! How do you send your prints?
I'm struggling to find shipping tubes strong enough for my prints with a diameter large enough for my thicker paper...
Would love to hear what suppliers you use - DM me if you are more comfortable!
I've just been busy playing with my new etching press!
It's been a learning curve to get the pressure juuuust right, and get consistent prints... But I think I've figured it out! โจโบ๏ธ
A gorgeous day up Ben More, travelling the A' Choich Ridge from the Ross of Mull side...
Not a bad lunch spot! Mull is spoiling us with this sun! โ๏ธ
(now if only an otter swam past)
I've seen people sand and draw their designs on, and seal with PolyAcrylic so for a reduction its easier to retain the design... But it's just a bit of a faff! (I'm probably not doing it right though ๐ )
Printmakers! Another question...
How do you prepare your Lino?
Sand? Seal? Nothing at all?
Having trouble with sealing mine with PolyAcrylic to keep my design on the block. It's always splotchy!
Sunshine on Mull and Ben More looking majestic... โ๏ธโฐ๏ธ
Still haven't climbed up - one for this weekend maybe?!
Prepping a new piece... hopefully it will be ready when my press arrives!
Can you guess which beach this piece is inspired by? (Hint: Somewhere on Mull!)
I even got to brush a coo! (Do not try without supervision!! ๐)
P.S Look at this little zonked out highland calf enjoying the rare sunny day!

Had the best time this weekend with my lovely friends over at Ardalanish Farm!
Sunny weather, Highland Calves, and a beautiful beach!
Ben More is looking beautiful today!
Had to snap some shots of my reduction linocut print "Taking a Dip" while we have this sunny spell.
It's definitely feeling like spring, and soon our highland cow neighbours will be out on the loch again! ๐ฎ ๐
A stunning day to drop off some stock on the Isle of Iona! โจ
Oh very handy, thanks for the tip I'll give them an email! โบ๏ธ
Oooh, I'll grab a couple of that too! (is this how paper hoarding begins ๐)
I've heard good things about Somerset Satin, but yes, very pricey! Might start with Rosaspina first and see how I get on printing on a larger scale... Bit worried about wasting expensive paper ๐
I'll have a look at Tiepolo, don't think I have heard of that one, thank you ๐
My second reduction print was inspired by these local Highland Coo's taking a dip in Loch Beg on the Isle of Mull! #wildlife #highlandcows #linocut #printmaking #scotland โฐ๏ธ๐ฎ
Oh I haven't heard of Fabriano 5, will definitely take a look! Thank you ๐
Question for my lovely printmakers out there, what paper do you use?!
Looking to start printing big (A3+) and wanted to invest in some sturdy paper for multilayer linocut reductions.
Fabriano Rosaspina is on my radar at the moment but keen to hear about alternatives!
I've been busy doodling and preparing some new products. I really want to create a few bookmarks based on the wildlife found here!
Fun times in the studio, playing with different sizes, compositions and styles!

Oh perfect, thank you! Will definitely be giving this a go! ๐คฉ
Ooh! I'm thinking of using Caligo SafeWash Ink on fabric, does it work well? Wasn't sure if I needed fabric specific ink!
Would love to start doing cushion covers with my linocuts...
Fluffy Butts and Snowdrops ๐๐
I'll definitely have to make a linocut print of my wee chickens in the snowdrops!
Highland Coo's have my heart ๐งก Spring is around the corner here and that means new born Highland Calves!
This print is inspired by these gentle giants who roam on Loch Beg.
An image of 3 greeting cards on a textured floral background. The first is of Puffins on the Isle of Lunga. The second is Otters playing on rocks on the shores of Loch na Keal. The third is of Ben More with a herd of Highland Cows wading in the loch below.
Three greeting cards. The first is of a beach on the Isle of Iona, with turquoise water and pristine sand. The second is of Iona Abbey with boats bobbing in the water. The third is of the old ruins on Iona with sheep grazing around.
A greeting card of Puffins on a summer's day on the Isle of Lunga in the Treshnish Isles.

New greeting cards released! Inspired by some of my favourite locations on the Isle of Mull and Iona ๐
