The strait of Vermouth is not completely open? Oh THAT's why Hegseth switched to vodka martinis.

Well, I have been looking for a new Scotch...
People ask me all the time for my favorite Onion headline, and there are like 200 of them, but my favorite recent print headline is easily this:
Just out behind my house is a small patch of poppies planted by the previous owner.
Every summer day there are native bumblebees visiting them. The look like ringing bells because when the bee lands the flower flips and points down, springing up when they leave.
It's hilarious and beautiful.
Please tell your MP to support the federal NDP motion to ban so-called surveillance pricing, where businesses offer different prices based on consumers' personal data

Fluoride and kids' IQ: What a decades-long analysis shows medicalxpress.com/news/2026-04...
Findings "provide no support for the claim that community water fluoridation has any harmful effect on children's IQ or on adult cognition."
I make it a point to learn at least a few phrases, starting with a polite apology for not knowing their language very well 😅.
Half my clothes and all of my luggage have Canadian flags on them somewhere, if I didn't start of with an apology they might think me inauthentic.
Some statistics on the anniversary of the day when Ukraine sank the Russian Moskva cruiser:
Ukrainian Armed Forces have destroyed:
▪️48% of Russian Pantsir air defense systems
▪️About 25% of Russian S-300 and S-400 SAM systems
▪️34% of Russia's strategic bomber aircraft as part of Operation Spiderweb
An excellent achievement, for certain, but regrettably no amount of damage can bring any sense to putin.

The collapse of the gulf stream will be catastrophic for the entire planet. The crisis in the earth's circulation system continues to be ignored while politicians promote massive oil/gas expansion.
We are killing our children's future.

Tell your MP that a break from the fuel tax won't be very helpful if nothing is done to address another increase on food costs. Carney can't just expect a break in the fuel tax to solve escalating living costs

What the hell is going on in Canadian media?
Why was journalist Tina Yazdani — who was dogged in her coverage of Ontario Premier Doug Ford’s government — suddenly fired from CityNews without any explanation to the public?
This is potential-major-press-freedom-story levels of concerning:
FFS. Thank you Rachel, let's Streisand-Effect the hell out of this story.
Mark Hamil : one of the few people as good as his dog believes him to be.
Dogs. Such adorable dorks we don't deserve.
Life goal : Be the person your pet believes you to be.
We can only see one side of the couch cushions as it were.
I think it's the hair. It's too swoopy.
There's also a lot of jealousy. So many ridiculous vehicle with "F*CK Trudeau" stickers on them.
They're jealous of Katy Perry.
Well, If you look at Mexico and see their President has a PhD, then you look at our Prime Minister, also with a doctorate then we realise that the continent is an intellectual vegemite sandwich.
(In this metaphor the US president is infact the yeasty abomination in the middle.)
As much as I'd love to trade our Premier for Mr Kinew that is unfortunately as likely as trading McDavid for a 14th round draft pick from 8 years ago.
More realistic I think than passing proportional representation, even though I would prefer that. It would have to happen in phases, and starting with practical recall legislation is the first step, and explicitly not banning floor crossing without loosening the party grip.
Klein: There's a new company that is marketing that they have robot dogs who will do security at the data center. So even this handful of jobs that were being offered, they're already working to try to figure out how they won't even need those.
Khanna: They’re saying this technology is going to be bigger than nuclear, bigger than electricity, bigger than aviation.
Last I checked, we have an FAA for aviation, nuclear energy is regulated, and electricity is regulated.
Ban whipped voting.
Let MPs actually vote their consciences.
Practical recall legislation.
Make parties looser groupings of individuals in coalition for common cause not rigid color teams to seize power for a minority.
I have my stack of books, they have their stack of books. Some interactions go as far as a slight nod.
Glorious bastion of introverts.
