Eliza Flower, born on this day in 1803, was a cherished musician and composer renowned for her radical hymns and impactful protest songs.
Alongside her sister, Sarah Flower Adams, Eliza played a pivotal role in influencing William Johnson Fox and the progressive ideals of South Place Chapel.

Born on this day in 1832, radical writer, freethinker and abolitionist minister Moncure Conway was born. Arriving in England in 1863, he settled at South Place Chapel and became leader of the then named South Place Religious Society.
In 1928, named in his honour, Conway Hall officially opened.
