What a heartful memory! We have three young boys, the little two are constantly checking on them! I hope someday they look back with a similar warm heart at these days even as today sometimes they don't enjoy the chores of it all. Thank you for sharing that memory π

one thinks I'm their big silly looking parent, they will forget all about me soon enough π π Do you have an animal you have made a special connection with?
How relationships "imprint" is a cool thing to think about! Yes, with this little one I happened to be there to catch them emerging from their egg in the moment, gave 'em a little hand β€οΈ My wife has such a big heart with our animals and is the primary caretaker, so I'm sure even if this little

Still not real sure within myself "why" beyond print & bury them somewhere in the woods to leave for my kids for them to find together w/ a treasure map when they are older π
Remember the value of spreading hope

Buzzed off my winter face. most of it anyway. After 30 years of shaving I still have no idea what to do with facial hair. Anyway, periodic verification that I am indeed a human-shaped life form if anyone is keeping track π Happy spring stick season from the northern piedmont βοΈπππ±π

Jelly[fish] is just meeting Narwhal for thr first time and neither of them believes the other is real. Jelly wants Narwhal to prove they exist "Prove It!" and Narwal says 'Prove what?' Smiling and Jelly yells 'Prove you're real!' and Narwhal asks 'Can you prove that you are real?'
From 'Narwhal, Unicorn of the Sea' a Narwhal and Jelly Book by Ben Clanton, one of our family favorites. This page always makes me laugh.
Very relieved the state legislature appears to have decided to do this and a bit blown away by how quickly and passionately rural Vermonters came together and made this happen.
Abstract photo of the side of a blue metal skip in a scrapyard. A deep rusted horizontal line across the middle and a circular ring of rust from something being pressed/worn against it. The blue paint is well worn itβs surface scratched and eroded in places, the orange rust like gestural drawing marks.

This is a pretty charitable revision of Catholic history.
The road home, reflection in a puddle of foggy wood on a dirt road
The cold chill of a foggy evening on the road home through mud season for no logical reason makes my heart warm.
programs that folks can leverage for relief from various things, but I'm not aware of anything specifically related to the... present tense nonsense.
Hope all is well for you in CA, nice to see your name and thoughts when I pop in here βοΈ
In some ways that story begins in the late 1800s, though.
Higher fuel costs (and reverberating effects from higher fuel costs) definitely impact farm economics, but when folks I know who farm confide in me what is keeping them up at night, I can't say that's ever been a big thing.
There are some
breaking the confidence of my neighbors and [probably] falsely extrapolating their individual stories into generalizations.
There are many "archetypes" of "farmers" here but it is fair to say the soul of the "multi-generational family hill farm" is broken. We lose more and more every year.
Yeah ππ Thank you for asking, but I guess I'm not quite sure how to answer that succinctly enough to fit in a little text box. There is a lot of context I'd have to ramble on before an attempt at an answer might even make sense, and even then my current awareness is so local I'm afraid I'd be both
As the energy coordinator for my very small, rural town I can't thumbs up this sentiment more ππ
