there is a relationship between subitizing and common time signatures in music.

quoting Leibniz while turning down the descriptiveness: subitizable patterns in music music comes with the safety of knowing without effort.

subitizing (from latin "subitus" = sudden) is the pre-verbal and pre-mathematical intuition on small quantities (up to 4 or so) of items in a set, which, I just learned translates to "sanbil" (suppose + know) in Turkish.

gaining new knowledge feels like remembering as new patterns touch and partially reinforce the old patterns in the process of creating connections among _things already known_™
