I hate hearing “kindness is free.” Kindness is NOT free, and that’s part of what makes it important! At the very least, you are accepting the consequence that some people will see you as weak, and often there is much more cost than is given credit.
Kindness isn’t free, it’s precious and worth it.

Depression is an expert predator- it overwhelmingly isolates its prey, preventing any chance of defeating it. Every pathway to overcoming depression is preemptively destroyed by the depression.
Trying to make friends and community as an adult, especially in such a polarized world, is really, really difficult.
I didn’t have faith in myself and let my family convince me to move away from the warm ocean that I loved and needed, it was a huge mistake. If you know you need something, don’t let people tell you it’s silly or unnecessary, have faith in yourself.
When it’s late at night and you can’t sleep and cuddles might help but you don’t want to wake up your partner(s), or worse don’t have one! 😭
