One takeaway from the paper is that disclosure is necessary but not sufficient: Franchise Disclosure Documents make these restraints visible, but they do not undo switching costs,hold-up, or post-term noncompetes.
The FTC's Franchise Rule emphasizes disclosure over substantive regulation.
I see it now. elegant!
Very nice design with the “+” operator. I did my homebrew with function arguments. Does prefab allow you to customize? eg via templates?

@paulgp.com where do the 70-90% identification rates from the dashboard website come from? I can't find them in the paper (or I'm reading it wrong).

Another day, another R coding skill: targets-r.
Covers the amazing `targets` package by Will Landau fosstodon.org/@landau for reproducible analysis pipelines.
You can install it in one line. 📦 #rstats #claudecode #codex

I take this as a serious question: if everyone (every LLM) uses the same seed it sort of defies its purpose and it’s well documented that these models tend yield the most probable input which for seed is 42 (because programmers love the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy?!)
`tidy-r` SKILL.md got a spring clean! I slimmed down the reference, added `tidyselect` coverage, and fixed a few things. It's one line to install.

New blog post: The corruption of English. A very short rant, and my entry into the grumpy-old-man genre.

Amazing work! Are you planning to support `tar_file` and the rest of the zoo?
A screenshot of the positron app showing it was modified on January 1, 1980.
So they positron dev containers are not intended as a claude code yolo sandbox? or also? 😅
Congrats, looks great. I would love to test it: I have a simple project that replicates code in three languages (R, Python, Stata), one that builds a method based on a replication package (R), and a more complicated model that dispatches to Stan.
Do you think one of them would be a good candidate?
Is this not a tool for sandboxing? I guess I’m unclear about the use cases.
Is this for the infamous ‘—dangerously-skip-permissions’?
Maybe I'm doing it wrong: does the search find the replicated papers? E.g. osf.io/registries/s... returns zeros results but the paper in here does mention that author as part of the paper: osf.io/rq6jd/overview
This is helpful! Is there also a direct link to the list of all attempted replicated papers?
Send me your favorite #rstats hex tile.
(And also the philosophy around it.)
One more R coding skill for the pile: tidy-r.
It includes all the cool new functions of dplyr 1.2! It also hooks into the r-btw MCP server for live docs, or falls back to R help when it's not available.
You can install it in one line. 📦 #rstats #claudecode #codex

A table titled "Yearly average exchange rates for converting foreign currencies into U.S. dollars" showing one row for the Euro Zone. The Euro averaged 0.886 per U.S. dollar in 2025, 0.924 in 2024, and 0.924 in 2023. The 2024 value (0.924) is circled in red, highlighting a comma instead of a decimal point.
This is live on the official IRS website and hasn't been fixed in a year.

Some juicy prizes for an essay.
Thanks for sharing. Just FYI, I recommend to audit the event-studies skill manually because it has set.seed(42), broken file paths, and every plot example (I think?) uses geom_ribbon when the instructions explicitly said geom_errorbar.
