This really could be for anything (I'd set it up so that users can add products) so groceries, household items, small appliances, hardware, home improvement materials... pretty much anything. Users input prices about things they care about every time they shop and I provide the graphs / trends.

I'm thinking about starting a project and curious what y'all think. I want to build a "normal people" price tracker to show inflation in the coming year. I'm thinking a public website where normal people can put in prices for staples they buy. Could be broken down by product type / region.
