And my other #SNLUK thoughts are that amongst the naysaying was so much snobbery about US comedy. Yes different things work in different places, but there’s a lot the British comedy scene can learn from the US one, particularly in regards to sketch, character & improvisation.

One of the most refreshing things about watching #SNLUK on Saturday was seeing LIVE sketch comedy on our TV screens again. I think I had underestimated how thrilling and significant that is.

I hope that SNL UK goes well tonight - there are many many very talented people working on it both in front of and behind the camera, and the scrutiny they're under at the moment is pretty ridiculous. My other hope is that they quickly find their own identity for the show. 1/3
