This has been a long time coming for me. Ever since I started working on spatial data in 2019, when I began my PhD, I envisioned a tool that would allow for fast and efficient sharing of spatial omics data, while also enabling proper multi-sample overview.

To showcase the usefulness of KaroSpace, we created viewers across 18 datasets and 8 platforms, including Xenium, MERFISH, DBiT, Visium, OpenST, and CODEX and they can all be seen on karospace.se.

In KaroSpace, users can inspect cell-level annotations, gene expression, neighborhood statistics, marker gene information, make tissue annotation, and much more. My favorite feature is the slider, where you can color your cells by opposing variables or annotations and slide across the tissue.

With KaroSpace, the viewer is a single standalone .html file that can be quickly opened in any browser or embedded in a webpage and shared with collaborators or the wider research community.
