For profit.
Sadly, they returned the money because they got so many death threats. Wu didn't ask for the money back, just wanted it redirected
I just made a similar point. bsky.app/profile/fort...
If Ireland and/or Italy had qualified for the World Cup, would their opinion be a little bit different? Maybe? Maybe not?
At some point it needs to be called out.
Notice how celebrations of FIFA games (block parties and fan parades) were called out as irresponsible spending, but not the Southie parade.
Notice how participatory budgeting (w/ funds for immigrant protections) was targeted as irresponsible spending.
Thank you and yes!
The Herald and two Councilors are misinforming people with intention, often working together, with some regularity.
I see it as coming close to a fraud, in how information is being manipulated for political advantage.
Dorchester is on the frontlines of climate change, from its coastline to its housing and infrastructure. In this episode of DotLife, UMass Boston professors Georgia Mavrommati and Katherine Dafforn discuss what climate change means for the neighborhood today.

My Globe comment regarding Todd Lyons. www.bostonglobe.com/2026/04/17/o...
Because he is not acting in good faith and has not been for years now. He promotes a new outrage every day to get clicks and to try to earn conservative bona fides. It is all very 2022.
The Boston Herald and so-called "leaders" citywide are spreading a falsehood, claiming Mayor Wu supported $200-$500 payments for migrants to take yoga and get massages.
What Happened: A 3rd party nonprofit received a $7,500 grant and failed to comply with grant requirements. Since corrected.
Thanks for the work, I've been trying to catch each hearing on YouTube and have been impressed with your stewardship.
Did @fpnaboston.bsky.social post Councilor Flynn's opposition to the Congress Street Redesign Project (February 2026)?
I understand the need for FPNA to mollycoddle. But criticism when warranted, is also important.
Until this project is completed, I'm not taking anything for granted.
Loved it.
Every federal official involved in this shameful episode needs to be prosecuted.
📰📰 I'm very excited to say that next month I'll be starting at @bostonglobe.com as a political reporter covering state and local politics. I'm looking forward to continuing to cover the crazy world of Massachusetts politics, including Beacon Hill and the 2026 elections. #mapoli
It seems that I’ve loved her forever.
What’s wonderful to me about @emilysweeney22.bsky.social is how long she’s been an absolute superstar at the the Globe. #whyisubscribe

Received documents yesterday 4/16/26 regarding my Public Records Request of 2/9/26.
Analysis begins next week. Stay tuned.
If I sound frustrated in my reply to Councilor Flynn it’s because I’m frustrated.
All this energy spent fueling outrage over a tiny budget item (<$100,000) while City Council reviews a $5 billion budget.
Councilor Flynn has not supported or suggested a single major cut.
At yesterday’s BPS budget hearing, Councilor Flynn called for hiring additional assistant coaches.
He has not supported or suggested any major budget cuts.
Each week, he and Councilor Murphy fuel outrage over relatively insignificant budget items. Is this fiscal responsibility?
Not anywhere near that bad and they last a long time. The doctor doesn’t drill for that long and you don’t feel pain. There’s some discomfort. I won’t say it’s fun but it’s no diff than a root canal. A gum graft, if needed, hurts a bit but not for long.
The wallet hurts more than anything.
After so much harm to our communities and our people. Good f*****g riddance.
Thank you to City Council Ways and Means Chair @ben4district6.bsky.social for spending an extraordinary number of hours in budget hearings this week.
From what I can tell, Councilor Weber didn't miss a single beat, chairing the hearings and public testimony with distinction. More to come. 🙏🏼
Mayor Wu smiles and poses with Commissioner Burke and Deputy Commissioner Marshall
It is my honor to introduce Boston’s next Fire Commissioner, Rodney Marshall!
Deputy Chief Rodney Marshall brings more than three-and-a-half decades of experience in the Boston Fire Department to this role and he is ready to lead @fire.boston.gov.
VIDEO (cued): We learn today what the BPS School Committee Chair actually stated regarding a BPS audit, in context, seemingly contradicting what Councilor Flynn stated on the Council floor and in the press.
The Chair has offered to speak on this issue. www.youtube.com/watch?v=m5cT...
Thank you Rep. Pressley!
And thank you @ruthzee.bsky.social, for being diligent in keeping Bostonians on top of this effort. 🔥
Boston Public Art Triennial has published a 74-page "Triennial 2025 Impact Report."
An impressive read for an org that, IMHO, has been flying below the radar while punching above its weight, elevating the diversity and quality of public art in Boston for years. www.thetriennial.org/impact?mc_ci...
Thanks for this reporting, the nuances that I had missed are appreciated.
