Farage built Brexit, and Brexit broke Britain.

Nigel Farage is the cause of the mess we’re in - not the solution.

This is dangerous, reckless, anti-science nonsense.

Paracetamol is safe to use and Nigel Farage should stop spreading misinformation.

Some podcasts are good, some are bad. I actually love that ā€˜In our time’ is now a podcast/archive of the radio shows, including episodes pre-podcast era. The 2003 episode on the Spanish Civil War with Paul Preston, Mary Vincent and Helen Graham is wonderful for my Advanced Higher History students.

The clincher, for me, is that what she did will be outlawed when the Renter’s Rights Bill comes in next year. It’s why the ā€˜didn’t break any rules’ defence falls short. Of course, Boris Johnson would have promoted her & borrowed the house for a year.

Labour's homelessness minister 'evicted tenants and hiked rent to Ā£4k a month' LABOUR's homelessness minister has been found to have "evicted tenants" from her property in east London, andĀ re-list the address after…

www.thenational.scot/news/2537175... This is beyond satire. She’s the homelessness minister FFS! And the people she evicted are her constituents!

As ever, you express my fears about where we are far better than I ever could. Sadly, it gets ever harder to believe that this can end peacefully, such is the obscenity of the situation.

They live in gold, we live in rust: why we must destroy the new Gilded Age

Inequality in the west is now at the same level as Rome during slavery. We can’t go on like this. Unless we change peacefully, we risk violence

We will be properly honouring ā€˜Daniel Hannan Day’ on Tuesday with all the requisite pomp, circumstance & documentary evidence of what an irredeemable arse he is that you would expect. Elevating our world’s wrongest man to the House of Lords will always be the essence of Brexit.

Truth-tellers, not rioters. Protect these two men at all costs.

ā€œYou feel tough with your assault rifles and your sticks. You should be standing here with us. You’re on the wrong side of history.ā€

I see Reform Scotland has changed its name to the not at all pretentious 'Enlighten'.

I wonder if they'll now be willing to enlighten us about who funds them?

The agenda of the Labour right was wicked in the 90s too, but at least Blair won elections for them. Now, Starmer’s hopeless, depressing approach is fuelling the rise of the far right and stamping out what remains of his party’s soul. Surely, Scotland’s ready for independence in Europe now?

The @heraldscotland.bsky.social education newsletter this week is about the consequences of the supreme court decision on kids across Scotland. It's probably my most-read article to far this year.

Graphic with a purple background. It reads: "We are really shocked by today's Supreme Court decision- which reverses twenty years of understanding on how the law recognises trans men and women with Gender Recognition Certificates. The judgement seems to have totally missed what matters to trans people- - that we are able to live our lives, and be recognised, in line with who we truly are. We will continue working for a world in which trans people can get on with our lives with privacy, dignity and safety. That is something that we all deserve.". The Scottish Trans and Equality Network logos are in the bottom right.

Along with @lgbtiscotland.bsky.social, we've published our reaction to the judgement in the UK Supreme Court today.

There will be more we want to say to trans people directly once we have a chance to catch our breath.

This is the group who got Roe overturned. The reason 10 year old rape victims have to flee state. The reason women sit in car parks until they are close enough to death.

And the claim that teachers should be listened to is at odds with the experiences of anyone who has tried to engage with national bodies or local authorities. These people view teachers as an annoyance to be patronised and dismissed while they make the decisions they were going to make anyway.

šŸ“󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁓ó æšŸ—³ļøWho are the Scots who intend to vote for Reform UK in next year's Holyrood election? I've dived into the tables for today's Survation poll to find out.

TL;DR: they're probably exactly who you thought they were - relatively older, male, well-off, unionist Brexiteers.

When I wrote my camps book, people sometimes had difficulty understanding how concentration-camp regimes were proud of what they were doing and wanted attention for it, even as they also hoped to keep many aspects secret and terrorize vulnerable classes. Anyway, this is what that looks like.

I'm cured of my Labour nostalgia. Now I know it's indy for me Occasionally, we find ourselves without the necessary words to express an emotion or idea because the language hasn’t yet been invented.

Starmer proves that whatever Labour once stood for is dead. Labour doesn’t offer change. The only alternative for Scotland to this failed status quo is independence

My column in @heraldscotland.bsky.social on how Labour now fuels Indy as much as the Tories did www.heraldscotland.com/politics/vie...
