Our tales are SF, and mine is set on Mars. Given Vernieda's exploits, lots of classic Westerns came to mind while writing the story--Support Your Local Sheriff, High Plains Drifter, & Shane, to name a few.

Anyway, it's a fun book & you should check it out! /fin

The "tall tales" are four stories by Marie Croke, me, Rebecca Hardy, & Kara Race-Moore inspired by real-life tomboy hellion, Vernieda Smith, who stole horses, smoked cigars, & bedeviled law enforcement w/ prison breaks.

Canadian authors, if you aren't eligible for the US Anthropic lawsuit bc you didn't register US copyright, we have our own class action suit! It doesn't rely on registering copyright and you're included in the class by default 🇨🇦

I made a "Yellow Wallpaper" piece back in 2017, but I re-read the story over the weekend and wanted to try again. Much happier with this version 🖤
