Fintan O'Toole: If Russell Brand and Rupert Murdoch are not part of the elite, then who is? If Russell Brand says he’s the victim of a conspiracy theory and Rupert Murdoch insists he’s rebel outsider, so-called ‘mainstream media’ must be the true counterculture

This Is great by Fintan O’Toole … “In a world where rich and powerful men like Murdoch and Brand claim to be champions of truth against “elites”, “mainstream media” is a rhetorical device, not a description of reality.” www.irishtimes.com/opinion/2023...

I don’t know if he’s on here but I am so happy for this dude. His first feature film and host of The Late Late Show all at the same time. Go and see the moving and hilarious #Ballywalter for incredible performances from Patrick Kielty & Seána Kerslake. In cinemas from tomorrow.

Just followed Annie and had a flashback to when she/you used to host these little twitter gatherings where people would order drinks and be funny on that app. Happier, more innocent times. This place feels so wholesome. So far anyway.

Róisín Ingle: The subversive joy of day-drinking can be one of life’s giddiest pleasures I had a long to-do list to get through that day and not one item on that list mentioned pints in a roadside beer garden with a bunch of strangers

I wrote about the joy of day-drinking in one of the best pubs in Dublin, the Royal Oak. I don't know if anybody can see this but, hello blue sky! Happy to be here even if I'm not sure what "here" is ... @taraflynnirl.bsky.social www.irishtimes.com/life-style/p...
