Chants of ‘shame’ were heard as board members voted to fire her...”

(Sorry to jump in) It’s a theorbo!
Context: this speech is from SIR THOMAS MORE, a history written, as near as scholars can tell, in the early 1600s by 6 or 7 people including Dekker, Heywood, Chettle, Shakespeare, and Munday.
It was never performed, because Jacobean England was a police state and it was banned by the censor.
Very well deserved. Congrats!
My son asked me what we did before memes. I told him we quoted Monty Python at each other.
Because I’m evilllll… Enjoy Rik Mayall out-performing a Beatle and Jools Holland at a charity gig in Nether Wallop!
To the possible couple at the wine bar next to me: I tried to get the bar staff to interrupt the fact that one of you took up 90% of that conversation. It was the best I could do.

The Boy with the Arab Strap! The reviewer liked their earlier stuff better. 🙄
I refuse to go to the movies to find this out, but I need to know if “sex cardigan” means I need to toss out most of my librarian wardrobe.
I cut all my onions for tomorrow’s dishes tonight so I won’t be a blubbering mess while cooking tomorrow. Dal, sambar, idli, aloo gobi. Might just do the turkey breast and wait on the keema mattar for the weekend.
Pitchfork, when it was fairly new, gave a Belle & Sebastian album a zero. Of course I had to go find it out.
That’s their choice! Either they carry the sulk, or you carry anger. It’s like an emotional physics equation. You can’t relieve them of the sulk.
Oof. Then yeah, protect yourself. Which can mean disengaging from conversations in the future. They might get mad if you state a boundary, but that’s their problem, not yours.
That could be verbal, it could be email. “When we talked about (X), you said (y) and I realized afterwards it didn’t sit right with me.” A person who cares about you will want the opportunity for repair. That said, if they were deliberately demeaning, your anger is telling you to protect yourself.
This is coming from a conversation with someone you care about. Figure out what in that conversation made you angry. Take the stance that the other person cares about you too. When you can express it calmly, go back to that person and tell them the conversation left you with these feelings.

I join you in your loathing of farfalle.
I don’t have nostalgia for their scents, but I occasionally wind up in the store when out with family members. They released a tomato scent last summer named Off the Vine that filled the Demeter Tomato Leaf hole in my heart. I hope that comes back.

🎶 Don't go chasing waterfalls
They always stay in the same place anyway
You're just gonna be sitting there staring
At a totally stationary water feature 🎵
🎶 Maybe chase something
That can change its location
Every now and then
Instead 🎵
Oh right! Sorry that escaped me.
