The Brussels Airlines safety video on the IFE screen: it strikes the right balance between delivering a safety messaging and being fun.
Brussels Airlines BRU-JFK: distinctly Belgian and rather decadent

It felt decadent in the moment, but that is also what made it feel like a timewarp. A rough transposition of haute cuise served with a wine list longer than the safety card was novel, but also distinctly heavy like a 00s business lunch. I would love to see a refresh with more Belgian twist.

Flying Brussels Airlines tomorrow and, after resigning myself to their ex-LH plane, it appears at check in i’m travelling with a different plane with yet another completely different cabin to their “standard” one. They are also not getting Allegris. I’ll take the upgrade, but still.

A picture of a FlixBus coach with a caption explaining that it was faster and cheaper than the train, but the driver was using his phone while driving recklessly.
My first FlixBus trip was quite something.
I couldn't be more excited to bring you my newest exciting challenge: The Up Front.

But the Avanti seat is *much* better than commuter rail operator Thameslink , just look at their passenger focus scores! A whole TWO MORE POINTS!
I had no idea this site existed! Thanks for sharing.
I tried to buy a ticket with SNCF yesterday for a train from Belgium to France. After trying three separate websites (all SNCF, but only one actually selling tickets), I gave up and used Trainline. It’s a shame SNCB doesn’t sell intl tickets, they have a great app.
Looking forward to it!
Always odd getting a train from Stratford international. A station that has never seen a #eurostar stop but sees regular commuter trains that reach 140mph (225kph). A modernist wonder for #highspeed futures that never arrived.
Absolutely iconic, Private Idaho is always in my playlists
You can if you turn your head 90°, it’s not uncomfortable for short periods.
A truly remarkable experience, but what was also surprising was the train terminated in Lyon. A totally French service by the Italian state operator. Hopefully they can bring their trains to Brussels some day!
Thoroughly impressed by the station at Liege- inspiring and bold architecture for Belgian railways.
I have seen one of these, absolutely fascinating! I think if they had toned down the post-historical dream language it would have landed a lot better, but I agree it was very avant-garde
The Utopia livery was the best airline livery ever, and that is coming from someone who wears pan am branded clothes on a daily basis.
It was my first time ever celebrating thanksgiving, and it could not have been better
As much as I don’t love Iberia’s interiors, their XLR cabins are sleeker and more elegant; a welcome evolution.

How I arrived at Bluesky
As much as I love a nice first class meal, the TGV Duplex interior proves that the hard product is the essential element.
I do hope Eurostar can get their design and hard product into a better place, it’s a brilliant brand that just seems to be languishing.
Although the trains are not as luxe as their predecessors, LNER does raise the bar with their high quality service. Well worth £20 with seatfrog!

Mt Fuji with bridge and river in front
There’s something about watching Mt Fuji out the window of a Shinkansen as you return to Tokyo to fly off… the perfect bookend to a Japanese visit. #JohnDoesJapan
Thank you! The other attempts were less successful.

Gazing upon Mt Fuji as I speed by on a Shinkansen has been my favourite moment visiting Japan. Will admit to struggling to take good photos at 250km/h thought.
