To celebrate 20 years of Symfony, I've crunched a bunch of numbers and share some memories of Symfony development since the 2.0 release in 2011.

We are 11 days into the 6 month development/stabilization phase for Symfony 7.3.

On the flip side, that means you can help out by reporting features of the component that are not developer friendly, and telling us what things we must not forget to document! πŸ˜‰

Actually, the reason libraries use the annotation is because this is near impossible to guarantee backwards compatibility on between versions. If you accept this risk - as mentioned in the first post - you can use them.

I would personally just suppress the check in the static analysis config.

FrankenPHP: the modern PHP app server FrankenPHP is a new app server for PHP apps (built on top of Caddy) and a library to embed the PHP interpreter in Go web servers.

This is built by the Laravel Herd team (and comes with the laravel CLI installed).

From what I've heard, it's doing the same as the frankenphp binary (frankenphp.dev/docs/#standa...). It's a statically compiled version of php-src + some common extensions and available as a single file binary

Despite not being an official speaker, I'm glad I was able to follow the footsteps of my all time open source hero and mentor @weaverryan.bsky.social by standing shoe-less on the SymfonyCon stage! πŸ’š

If you encounter anything concrete that you find especially messy, feel free to open a issue at github.com/symfony/symf... or ping me anywhere you find me.
Always good to hear user feedback! :)
