We decided to illustrate it.

Thanks to @jjdonohue.bsky.social, we know that PACs are driving gun policy in the US. End Citizens United so the wishes of voters are heard #gunviolence #ourlane @standsafe.bsky.social

7% of people have thought about shooting someone! That mean one in 14 people is on someone’s list. Wouldn’t it be nice to have less ready access to guns?

Congrats to Stanford’s @mathewkiang.com for this beautifully designed paper on unrecognized COVID deaths. As usual, those without access to healthcare are those who suffer unnecessary loss. @stanfordmedicine.bsky.social @stanfordeph.bsky.social #COVID #publichealth

My husband served two tours in Afghanistan. The Afghans who worked side-by-side with the US in the war sacrificed everything: friends, family and homeland. Their heartless treatment by the US govt is immoral. And we wonder why former allies are resisting joining the current debacle in Iran.

I Wrote Research Funding Announcements for NIH for 22 Years. This Year They’ve Published 14 How NIH went from 756 funding announcements to 14 in two years — and what it means for every disease that depends on federal research

On top of the slowdown in grantmaking I wrote about last week - this is another deeply worrisome trend for scientists, physicians, patients, families, and basically anyone who wants new treatments and new tools to promote health. 🆘🧪🥼

The US has been at war for all but about 20-25 years of our 250-year history. What is wrong with us?

We need to magnify the abomination that is "Operation Epstein Fury". This is a self-own, destroying our relationship with allies, threatening the global economic stability, and risking American lives here and abroad.

What are Republicans focused on today? Creating loopholes that allow weapons be sold without background checks, serial numbers, and basic accountability safeguards.

Yes, I can tell you care about statistics! I’m an epidemiologist and teach about study design. Your skepticism is justified but if there is a problem, it likely isn’t sample size. There could be bias in subject selection (as you point out). Increasing sample size won’t fix it.
