#10 Castlevania Symphony of the Night

An excellently crafted metroidvania that deserves the praise it gets. Music was amazing each section really pumped me up each time I went to an area. A well crafted map that felt good to get every inch found. Not sure if a reverse castle was needed though.

#9 Animal Well

The biggest thing for me was the atmosphere. The sound of the breeze or water dripping accompanied by the music here and there really set it up nicely. Puzzles were an excellent test of the different items to play around with. Short enough that a second run through sounds nice.

#8 Metaphor: ReFantazio

A really great JRPG from beginning to end. Atlus games always have some mix of great music, gameplay, and characters and this had that in spades. The game did run a little long and felt cut in a few places especially near the ladder half but otherwise was an amazing fantasy.

#4 Dandadan

Enjoyed this way more than I thought I would. It does romance in surprisingly real way despite everything that goes on in between. I would love to recommend although I feel like first impressions based off the first episode might throw people off. Great watch overall.

#3 Sonic Adventure 2

The feelings I have on this game are very mixed. There are some really cool things here but the gameplay really bogged it down a lot. Music was the high point here for pretty much every stage.

#2 The Muppet Movie

Pure joy and whimsy throughout the whole movie. The plot is kinda all over the place but the music makes up for a lot of it. I'm glad the evil scientist had a perfectly Kermit sized electric chair.

#1 Sonic 3

Really good improvements from the 2nd movie. I wasn't expecting for it to feel more face paced than it needed to be. Glad it filled all of the story it wanted to tell though. Jim Carrey was phenomenal as always and carried hard. The third act was amazing though.

#44 Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake

It's the Dragon Quest game and it comes with all the charm and comfy adventuring as the series always does. I had a good time with this, despite the endgame grinding the main story was a joy to go through and exploring really kept things fresh!

BowlofLemons's review of Dragon Quest III: HD-2D Remake | Backloggd Dragon Quest is a series that's really special for a lot of people. A simple premise for a JRPG but you never feels like its "stale" or "overdone" because its Dragon Quest.

To get the negative...

I don't think I said it here yet but I have a backloggd!

I used something called Sky Follower Bridge which let me scroll through my Twitter follows to check if each one had a Bluesky account.

#43 Trails in the Sky: The Third

I think this was really the perfect book end for the sky trilogy. So many different story beats taken from the previous two games and expanded upon or finished. A beautiful send off to a cast of characters I really grew to love over the three games.

#42 Halloween Special Pack 2024

Posting all of these here since I watched them back to back while sitting around on Halloween. These were all really cute and a lot of them I had fond memories of so it was nice to revist them again this year.

#41 No Country for Old Men

I really liked how silent the movie felt almost constantly. There was no music and it added to the tension of how the main character got through their situations. The antagonist was the best part, he really stole the show for the entire thing to be honest.

#40 Django Unchained

This was probably the coolest movie I think I've ever seen. From beginning to the end there was moment after moment that played out perfectly. The best of this was in the latter half of the film. Django also kills with his outfits the whole movie.

#38 Trails in the Sky SC

This games makes it all worth it. All of the plots from the frist game are wonderfully carried over while still leaving a bit more even after credits roll. The gameplay as improved with better ways to use every party member. Just a perfectly done sequel.
