Google Scholar has been AI-ified.

You still get direct links to articles ✅
You get a brief summary of article results, which seem accurate ✅
Scholar doesn't try to answer your query directly, only presents evidence ✅
Scholar decides what articles to return ⚠️

Well let me know if you find anyone! Would love to offer languages like Welsh, Gaeilge, Māori…

Makes a great student project, or can be done with a small amount of funding, OR by enthusiastic volunteers. Obviously needs native speakers though. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Free online aphasia therapy A free speech therapy website for aphasia. No signup and no cost. Developed by a speech pathologist.

Yes I think the Basque Comprehensive Aphasia Test was adapted through the Collaboration of Aphasia Trialists group - they have a procedure which is being used for many languages now.
I’d be thrilled to offer Welsh on my site www.aphasiatherapyonline.com - do you know anyone who could lead that?

Interesting! Are there any Welsh language aphasia assessments?

I feel very strongly that tables and figures should be put *within the manuscript* until it's ready for publication. Saves endless scrolling by the reviewer.
I would be more likely to review for journals who promise this.
Willing to die on this hill.

I use gesture therapy in the acute stroke unit, do you?

@maddyhaines.bsky.social and @laurarees.bsky.social would like to hear from you if you are an SLT, SLTA or rehab assistant

I've started to lose trust in research from certain places - trial results always seem too perfect. Every outcome is p<0.0001, recruitment is fast... Is it just me?

Help Improve Support for People with Mild Aphasia Aphasia research and rehabilitation often overlooks people with milder aphasia. For these stroke survivors, communication can often seem “fine” to others, but they might still struggle with:- Finding the right words- Keeping up in complex or group conversations- Expressing ideas clearly We are seeking participants in or around Melbourne for a study exploring the key challenges faced by people with mild aphasia and health professionals, and how services can better support them.

💭 Planning an economic evaluation for a #stroke or #aphasia study?

📊 We compared the EQ-5D-3L & SAQOL-39g

Exactly! It came through strongly in our co-design work that people who suddenly found themselves “carers” of family with aphasia felt unprepared, undersupported and overwhelmed.
