Alex was a kindhearted soul who cared deeply for his family and friends and also the American veterans whom he cared for as an ICU nurse at the Minneapolis VA hospital. Alex wanted to make a difference in this world. Unfortunately, he will not be with us to see his impact. I do not throw around the ‘hero’ term lightly. However, his last thought and act was to protect a woman. The sickening lies told about our son by the administration are reprehensible and disgusting. Alex is clearly not holding a gun when attacked by Trump’s murdering and cowardly ICE thugs. He had his phone in his right hand and his empty left hand is raised above his head while trying to protect the woman ICE just pushed down, all while being pepper sprayed. Please get the truth out about our son. He was a good man. Thank you.

7) Value of Perseverance
Sustained perseverance over the years led to the downfall of the Nazis but it was constant over the years. 8/

The French were led by a puppet government in Vichy that provided many horrible atrocities including the removal of Jews to the concentration camps. We must be wary of these dangers!

We need all types of people to help build the resistance including men, women, young people, religious groups. The Episcopal Bishop of Washington DC has shown us a way in her remarks this week to the President. 6/

We are going through times when people don’t rely on their morals but we must allow our actions to be a powerful act of defiance against injustice.

For many of us, we need to keep the spirit of resistance to help us make moral decisions in the face of today’s political climate. 4/

The French Resistance wasn’t perfect but it can teach us valuable lessons about the power of civilian courage, the importance of organized opposition against tyranny, and the potential for small acts to create significant impact. 2/

I’ve been thinking about what we can learn from the actions of the French Resistance during World War II. Their four years of occupation by the Nazis and how they worked to liberate themselves amazes me. Here are a few thoughts… 1/
