This was hugely inspired by last year's hosts @emmakidwell.bsky.social @alexaray.bsky.social . They set the example of pulling in the community in a way that celebrated and spotlighted the devs out there doing the work, often times without any of the glory.

My greatest delight in being entrusted with the IGFs was choosing presenters who represent the best of their craft. People I am genuinely fans of, all superstars who immediately signed up for the show, and in doing so elevated it and the winners and nominees.

No one is more qualified to co-write the IGFs than @robdubbin.bsky.social: Colbert's award-winning writer, IGF jury & indie game maker. He brought stage & comedy expertise and anxiety-curing ease and ego-less collaboration. And his writing! Incisive humor, targeted tone, deep indie expertise.
Teddy enabled every wild idea, had every name on speed-dial & understood what the IGFs were about, as a nominee, winner, & jury member. Teddy directed and edited our videos and puzzled out every piece of the IGFs with me day and night. @teddydief.com was the biggest pillar of support in the world!

The IGFs are THE show I looked up to for my entire career. A stage dedicated to indies, juried on true craft, honoring my absolute gamedev idols. Being nominated for one last year was a career milestone for me.
