Saw the Finnish 🎺 Verneri Pohjola & his band at the Mermaid Theatre last night. His bass player father, Pekka Pohjola, worked with Mike Oldfield.

Brilliant music from them and the opening act, the Francesco Turrisi Trio 👏

Saxophonist Xhosa Cole

An enforced change of plan to this year's schedule - but a positive outcome! We've delighted to be able to bring former BBC Young Musician of the Year and Parliamentary Jazz newcomer of the year Xhosa Cole to Bray Jazz 2025 - playing Whale Theatre on Friday night, 2nd May.

Two rising stars of contemporary European jazz, trombonist Nabou Claerhout and keyboardist Lynn Cassiers bring their unique and moody soundscapes to this year's Bray Jazz Festival - playing a matinee show at @mermaidartscentre.bsky.social on Sunday, 4th May next.
