Guess I didn't get vetted when making this list as I'm on it but don't post UE stuff here, like I do on Twitter, so much so that I pinned a post to curb any disappointment. I may one day post UE and things related to my documentation work, but that day is not today. π
Posts by Tim Hobson
There have been a bunch of people following me lately, presumably those moving from Twitter, where I've posted primarily about Unreal Engine and our documentation efforts.
Here on Bluesky, I'm only posting personal projects and Trek-inspired things.
Hope there's no disappointment in that. π
No worries at all. I appreciate the likes.
Reminds me I need to post some more Trek things here since that's practically all I use this platform for. π

Close up shots of the blades.
Star Trek DS9 Hero Prop:
I realize I've not shared this one in any great detail. It's a Jem'Hadar double bladed weapon used on DS9.
The longer blade has a spring so that it can retract as it's pushed into another object. Made of metal and acrylic bits and hand painted detailing.
Nothing at all!! I'm quite jealous of your armory, too. π
I would have had a whole Klingon armory if that were the case π
Granted I got this one a little over 300.00. I'm satisfied with that as I've never seen anyone offer them for less than $1k
New addition of a Roddenberry Klingon Bat'leth to my collection!
Roddenberry, com only made 500 of these. Can pretty much guarantee I'll request this to be buried in my tomb with me and all my other Trek things π
Today's project was finishing a replica of the Defiant's dedication plaque from DS9.
I took an Eaglemoss (scaled replica) and repainted it, and I applied it to a metal backplate. The original can be seen in the last pic.
Recently cleaned up and painted this Bajoran Gavel from the DS9 episode "Dax". Compliments my desk at home quite well. π
My general manager from back in my days of working at a movie theater has been going through his many tubes of old movie posters from the 1970s through the 2010s.
He kindly gifted me the Generations and Undiscovered Country advance posters. Pretty sure he'll have other Trek posters too! Love these!
Haha never would have caught that. Just assumed it was baked lighting. Just hope someone from that time doesn't come at us like "why don't yall bring SVOGI back!" π
Hope you're doing well. :)
Thanks! Been meaning to make them for ages and then I git spammed with ads for DTF transfers π
Made six of each for relatively cheap, too!
Thanks!
It's one of the best episodes! Recently made my own pennants from the episode (smaller than the originals, of course π).
Two panel meme. The top is a screenshot from Star Trek The Original Series. Bones is in his office, looking annoyed. The second panel is of a social media post. The user wrote "I wish I lacked critical thinking skills y'all seem so happy."
Absolutely absurd, but added this to my collection of things I'll be buried with because my family won't know what the fuck to do with any of it. π
I was planning to bring the small one to work to add more decoration to my desk area, but I sat it on top of my car while getting my kid situated this morning. π
I hope if someone finds it in my neighborhood or by the road, they wonder just what the fuck it is and try to decipher it. π
Star Trek DS9 Prop Replica:
This is my second version of this stand. Rick Berman posted this pic of The original a while back.
This is still WIP but I feel good about the layout and pieces matching close enough to the original for my tastes.
Star Trek DS9 Prop Builds:
Trying my hand at some replicas using direct transfer film.
I made a large and small version of the Ferengi Commerce Authority sign that Brunt used to shut Quark's bar down.
Then, I made some Niners and Logicians baseball penants from "Take me out to the holosuite".
Still need to add some real screws butvthe hardware store I visited was out of the size I needed. Other than that, I'll call this one done.
Non-Trek Prop Build: This past weekend I upgraded the look of my Regal Movie Theater Ghostbusters ghost trap popcorn bucket (That's a mouthful!)
Took it all apart. Repainted it. Added some weathering & paint chipping (probably too much though!)
First pic is the original and then all my "upgrades."
Nah, not people skipping ahead to S3 so much as just watching the 10 decent episodes during S2. π
When I rewatch TNG, I was a handful of eps in S1, slightly more in S2, and then the majority from S3 on.
DS9, on the other hand, I watch in its entirety beginning to end.
After nearly a year, I'm finally starting to decorate and organize some of the wall space around my desk. Lots of screen used and production-made #StarTrek props in this shot.
My most recent acquisition is one of Rene Auberjonois' Odo prosthetics.
Rene Auberjonois' (ODO on Star Trek DS9) wife recently found some items of his and placed them up on eBay. This includes some screen-worn ODO masks that he kept along with some extra ears from his masks being sold.
Money goes to a charities he supported!

Ferengi Rules of Acquistion:
#21 - Never place friendship above profit.
However if you prefer Zek's revised rules, #283 states, A good deed is its own reward.
Besides, you've seen posts of my builds and I make lots of extras of smaller props that are worth the trade for adding to my collection. π
I'll happily send you some prop replicas for completing the mission, too. Doubt I'll make it to any of the Trek conventions.
Especially keep an eye out for VOY Threshold. I like to collect the ones deemed the "worst" episodes, too. π
DS9 is what I look out for the most.
Next to that, ENT Broken Bow (final draft) and Terra Prime and These are the Voyages are high on my list. I like to have bookends for each series.
Even though I post a lot of props, original scripts are my favorite things to collect. I have so many Trek ones, all various first to final drafts. They are fun to read and compare to the final edited episodes. Like the actors have said, their lines are nearly identical to the script in every way.
