I bet this feels really good for the Class 313 EMU

I worked backwards from the faucet temperature haha, turned out it was spot-on for a 2-stop push at the same dev time, so I just went with it.

Only took one test roll to figure out that that was exactly the look I wanted.

Oh absolutely. I discovered it by accident in a photography class in college. It was so hot out that the water in the faucets came out too warm for standard dev. Got sick of traipsing across the building to get water from the water cooler, and just decided to push that shit and dev in warm water.

I don’t know if I’ve ever shot HP5 or tri-x at box speed, I just automatically go for like 1600 iso and absolutely cook that shit in development.

it's very funny because color film I demand basically perfection. massive negatives, perfect scans, low grain. black and white film I'm like actually fuck it up as much as possible, I want to look like my christmas vacation was shot on a spy camera where they killed the spy at the end of the roll

The new federal reserve nominee is actually named Kevin Wash, it's just that all the reporters you've heard talking about him have cornpone accents

somewhere I once saw a video of a small hatchback with a huge single-cylinder hit and miss engine swapped into it.

This time of year is very stressful for sensitive young men with too many light jackets. Very hard to squeeze them all into just 3 weeks of light jacket weather.

kinda like the house down the road from where I grew up that flew all kinds of interesting flags, which I thought was really cool... and then they started flying the Apartheid-era South African flag... and then the flag of an openly-neonazi Afrikaner separatist movement... hmmm.

I also have a harebrained idea to try someday, to talk to IEC-bus devices over a Beeb's user port, since I've got the adorable little Commodore 1520 plotter but am spoiled by BBC Basic.

BBC Basic on the C64 would be the other way to accomplish the same goal!

yeah, the approach that I was thinking of was to just throw out the KERNAL entirely and hit the hardware directly, borrowing a mix of routines from the MOS and KERNAL disassemblies. You can maybe see why my idea didn't get off the drawing board :)

Yeah, it wouldn't be exactly performant, I suppose. A fun hack idea though.

I'm just very excited that someone else is having the same mad ideas. I haven't done much 8-bit tinkering as of late but if you get something going here I might have to dust off the old C64!

But if you’re willing to live with a patched BASIC, I think the idea could be quite promising!

I had some fun ideas for using the REU RAM expansion gizmo to fake out sideways ROM and all that jazz. Real shame about the zero page though!

Yeah, I looked into doing exactly this for the C64 a few years ago - trying to write a MOS for the C64 that could then have BASIC or other languages soft loaded into RAM at &8000.

I soon came to the conclusion that the zero page issue would prevent use of un-patched language ROMs, and lost steam.

ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

so, with the transmission and engine actually bolted together, the clutch disengages as it should, BUT, now it slips. Not badly, if I wasn't already on the lookout for clutch misbehaviour I don't think I'd have picked up on it, but it's definitely slipping.
