Jake Auchincloss is a heavy favorite to win reelection in the MA 4th, but he's not without challengers, including two progressives and a Brookline Republican who is also a Bernie fan.
Shoutout to BU student reporter Nathan Metcalf for helping us cover this race!

Sometimes you look up a Facebook troll you've been arguing with and you find their prior federal prison sentence for trying to sell corporate secrets from the company they worked for to the Israeli government.
Then maybe you just blink a couple times and move on with your day
One candidate's past Town Meeting votes to abstain from LGBTQ+ resolutions take center stage in the Brookline School Committee election.
She's also been criticized for comments on the deaths of children in Gaza that she says were taken out of context.

Our reporter visited three Passover seders last week in Brookline, at a senior living residence, an Orthodox temple, and with an activist group.
On display were different views, in this time of global conflict and local strife, about how to think about freedom.

This is a really nice piece of local political reporting about changes at Quincy City Hall from the Globe's great Brian MacQuarrie

In all seriousness I'm pretty sure it has to do with being able to use the rest of the campaign funds or something
Nice reminder that both the golfers and the broadcasters are only human!

Help from the state legislature doesn't appear to be coming anytime soon for Brookline and other MA communities facing a budget squeeze because of Prop 2 1/2.

Earthset from Artemis II. I am overcome.
With interwoven story lines of the Artemis flight and Trump's increasingly insane threats against Iran feels like we're in a bizarro world West Wing today
What a beautiful moment.
#Artemis crew to Mission Control, after seeing and attempting to describe the eclipse: "And if you could give me about 20 new superlatives in the mission summary tomorrow, that'll help my vocabulary out a bit. Thank you."
13 of the 14 elected officials on Brookline's Select Board and School Committee have endorsed the override on the ballot in May.
The one outlier explains his position to Brookline.News:

A plan to repave Harvard Street this spring has brought criticism from bike advocates who say the current plan does not go far enough to make the major corridor safer.

As Max notes, this is what everybody has worried that Bezos will do, but way worse than anything he has actually done
I personally would find it difficult to continue working as a journalist at the Sun after reading this.
Great reporting, but I think Max is understating how seriously ominous this is. The Sun's right wing owner is using staff from his famously partisan TV company Sinclair to go after the most prominent Democratic politician in the state. He's also directly involved himself in the reporting process.
In 2019. This account continues to suck. Pure engagement bait, zero substance
Parking tickets in Brookline could be getting more expensive soon as the town looks for ways to improve its budget situation, alongside the tax override on the ballot this spring.

Here's an interesting one for any MA politics followers: If you've seen a question on the statewide ballot in the last few decades, the odds are pretty good that he helped it get there through his signature-collecting company.
Evergreen!
