Big Ten football media days are headed back to Chicago this year after taking place in Las Vegas in 2025. This year’s event is July 28–30. Maryland coach Mike Locksley and select players will appear on July 30.
Maryland announces its spring football finale as expected to coincide with Maryland Day on campus April 25. Previously the Red-White Game, the “showcase” nomenclature suggests a different structure this year, which follows a national trend.
"When I saw him release it, I was like, 'That really might go in,'" Alex Karaban said. "It went in, and the Indiana kid sent us to Indianapolis."

Dan Hurley says he kept asking his assistant coaches to tell him how bad UConn was from three (1-of-18 to start) but they wouldn't.
"The Indiana kid sent us to Indianapolis," says UConn's Alex Karaban of Greenfield's Braylon Mullins.
UConn scored 8 points in the game’s final minute, and guard Braylon Mullins’ deep 3-pointer with less than a second left capped a wild 19-point comeback as the No. 2 seed Huskies upset top seed Duke 73-72, to win the East Region at Capital One Arena Sunday.

Duke's been soft advancing the ball all half, UConn tips it near midcourt, and Braylon Mullins drains a LOGO THREE. Connecticut LEADS 73-72
Duke 67
UConn 64
Boozers 38
Tarris Reed 26
6-0 UConn run and Duke's 19 point lead from the first half is nearly gone. 3:42 of craziness left.
UConn has made *One Solitary Three* by Malachi Smith midway through the first half. They've missed *SEVENTEEN* others. Duke leads 62-51 with 8 minutes left.
If Tarris Reed can outscore the Boozers, UConn wins. If not, Duke wins. That's the scenario.
Duke whistled for five fouls in the first 4 minutes of the second half; could make things more interesting as UConn has cut the Duke lead to 12, 50-38.
Elite Eight At the HALF:
No. 1 Duke 44
No. 2 UConn 29
Cam Boozer 14pts (4-13)
Cayden Boozer 13pts (4-4)
Reed 12pts, 2fouls
Karaban 0pts (0-5)
UConn only 35% from the floor, 1-11 from 3. Duke 51%, 5-11 from 3. Blue Devils in full control; Huskies need a wake-up call.
UConn went nearly 6 minutes without a made bucket. Cayden and Cameron putting on a show with 13 & 14 respectively, and Duke leads by 19, 44-25, 2:54 to halftime.
Karaban hasn't scored yet (0-4), Reed's the only player with more than 3 points (12), and has to sit now with 2 fouls. Boozers have a combined 21, as Duke tries for the kill switch early, up 38-21.
Tarris Reed has 8 of UConn's 10 points, while the Boozer Bros. have 8 of Duke's 16 after 6 minutes. A pair of Blue Devil 3s the difference so far; UConn 0-3 from distance.
Last Elite Eight game I was at was 16 years ago Friday, when Da’Sean Butler, Joe Mazzulla and West Virginia knocked off future No. 1 pick John Wall and Kentucky.
The place Wall called home most of his NBA career hosts the best game of the weekend: East No. 1 Duke v. No. 2 UConn.
Sweet 16 FINAL:
No. 2 UConn 67
No. 3 Michigan St. 63
Reed 20pts
Karaban 17pts
Ball 12pts
Cooper 14pts
Carr/Fears 13pts ea.
Kohler 12pts
Huskies led by 19 in the first. But MSU furiously came back, and UConn holds on despite only shooting 37% in the 2nd half. They get Duke Sun.
East Regional Best Regional
No. 5 St. Johns made a season-high nine 3-pointers in the first half, but when the threes went cold after halftime, No. 1 Duke took advantage, erasing a 10-point deficit to comeback and beat the Red Storm, 80-75, in the Sweet 16 Friday night.

Sweet 16 FINAL:
No. 1 Duke 80
No. 5 St. John's 75
Evans 25pts (10-15 shooting)
Cam Boozer 20pts (6-7FT)
Ejiofor 17pts
Hopkins 15pts
Johnnies led by as many as 10 in the 2nd, but Duke made 14 of its final 18 shots to hold on. STJ made 13 3s, 9 in 1st, but only 4-14 in the 2nd.
Cameron Boozer and-one coming with Duke up 72-69 with 3 minutes left. Buckle up.
Can't count, it's 10 of its last 12.
Duke has made 11 of its last 18 shots, eliminating a 10-point St. John's lead and tying the game at 65 with 6:23 to go.
St. John's is 50% from the floor and 50% from three. And more importantly, they've punched Duke in the mouth with physicality out of halftime, with a 13-0 run and their largest lead of the game, 53-44.
St. John's 9 made 3-pointers are the most they've made in a first half all season, besting the 8 made in a game....right here at Capital One Arena against Georgetown on New Year's Eve.
Red Storm season high for threes in a game is 15, in that same contest against the Hoyas.
Sweet 16 At the HALF:
5. St. John's 40
1. Duke 39
Mitchell (4-5), Prey 9pts ea.
Evans 11pts (5-9), Cam Boozer 9pts
St.J 9-18 from 3, including Prey's on the Red Storm's final possession to take the lead.
Duke only 2 made 3s; held scoreless in final 4:43.
Duke had a early lead, but St. John's has come back to make five-straight FGs and lead 19-15.
The Capital One Arena marquee may be down for renovation but it’s not necessary for the firepower we’ve got inside tonight.
Two East Regional Sweet 16 games - No. 1 Duke vs. No. 5 St. John’s and No. 2 UConn vs. No. 3 Michigan State in the nightcap #MarchMadness
Until a new indoor stadium opens at the old RFK site, D.C. isn’t a candidate to host a Final Four. Even then, those games would be hard-pressed to deliver the pedigree of this weekend’s NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 matchups at Capital One Arena.
