Lovely! Also, yay OM!
Beautiful view from a hike yesterday. Back in a random era of black and white shooting, again. SOOC. #blackandwhitephotography #m43 #mtsi #washington #photography #mountain #spring #outdoors #hike #omsystem #om3
My job is a daily reminder of this. Public defenders are fighting this inequity daily.
In private practice, sure. In public defense, you’re just burning out attorneys.
Further, they won’t support hiring more support staff (paralegals, investigators, mitigation specialists) so we have more attorneys with far too few support staff.
Guess who does that extra work? The attorneys do.
It’s a disservice to our clients & it’s absolutely against the spirit of the new standards. King Co DPD needs to be called on their bs and stop deflecting like they aren’t contributing to the problem to save money.
THEY WON’T EVEN FINALIZE OUR UNION CONTRACT. We’ve been w/o a contract ALL YEAR!
It is. So even if we can meet that magical number of a max of 47 cases/year (the end goal), if we have 30 open cases on June 30, we begin again on July 1 like we have 0. But we don’t. It’s a farce.
So you know how they artificially meet that requirement? By resetting our case counts to ZERO every July 1. Then we’re assigned cases like we have none. Even though we may have 60 pending felony cases from June 30.
They say a lot could be done by being more selective w/ prosecuting, but DPD execs are throwing attorneys under the bus. DPD is deflecting when they place the blame on the PAO. Yeah, obviously MANY crimes should not be prosecuted. However, each year our case count is supposed to be lower.
We haven’t reached that level yet (of Oregon), but if we are overworked or have too many cases, the judges decided we can’t refuse cases. 🙄 Every member of the criminal “justice” system, including public defender execs, are doing everything they can to undermine the caseload standards.
And they didn’t burn down this warehouse?
It’s a tough line of work to be in but I never want to do anything else. They’re trying to make it better with caseload standards but King County public defense execs fuck us over by manipulating the standards.
Damn, I need that Seattle sticker.
I think you could end that last sentence after the word “country.” We don’t need to be invading anyone, with due diligence or otherwise.
Was it insanely crowded? When we went a couple years ago, the traffic was so bad it took us 2.5 hours to get there from Seattle lol then another 45 minutes waiting in the parking line
Oh no. I read the hashtag as “we keep puss safe” fsm help me.
Aren’t the panels super expensive?
Well, we were trying to use my car instead of the other for everything 🤷🏻♀️
Ending up selling it before having to pay the $720 yearly registration. WA was also discussing having EV drivers pay per mile they drive.
We’re very careful with our electricity usage and when I had an EV, it was consistently at least $80/month higher than without the EV. Same amount we spent on gas unless we were going camping. The price didn’t work for us.
Unrelated but Washington has decently priced electricity, but apparently with the low snowpack this year, hydroelectric is going to suffer 🙃
Huh. I posted this 4 months ago. Can we do it now? @governorferguson.bsky.social @murray.senate.gov
And yet, if they’d get rid of the regressive tax structure, funding infrastructure would be handled…
Meanwhile “progressive” places like Washington State make it so much more expensive to own an EV. Electricity costs, registration costs are more than double. This is what happens when there’s no income tax for millionaires.
Oh no. They can’t just take naps and claim them as overtime now. They actually have to WORK for their pay! 😱 #seattle #defundthepolice
Guess they won’t be able to take naps and claim them as overtime now 🙄
But not public defense. Can’t believe they struck that.
You need to something to protect the National Forests in Washington NOW

There have been 5 kidnappings by ice within a few miles of my home in the last week. #seattle has no idea. People are shocked when they hear it’s happening here.
WAKE THE FUCK UP. #iceishere #fuckice
