Dawn of the Dead was released on this day in 1978 ten years after Night of the Living Dead. George Romero will always be the father of zombie movies.

As a Rockets fan, and avowed Spurs Hater, I agree. Matches the spirit of the city in a beautiful way.

This is a nice way to end my season. Glad for @johnstjh.bsky.social, he’s a great director and one of the reasons I get to do what I do. Can’t wait to get after it again.

Shakespeare’s Othello Should Have Been Called Iago - Houston Press Shakespeare mistitled his great tragedy Othello, now percolating joyously from Classical Theatre Company. He should have called it Iago, for without doubt

Car Takes episode 361: William Shakespeare’s “Othello” presented by Classical Theatre Company

A nice review for Othello. These two are local Houston actors who have a long running video series where they see shows and then review it in the car in the parking lot after. We love them!

And my sound, “faint”? That’s hilarious. This director routinely tells me to turn it down. Words are the most important part. As a matter of fact, one of the notes I got from the show this reviewer saw, was saying about a specific cue, “turn it down”.

Just spent four weeks opening two different Shakespeare shows. Tonight the second one opens and I am done for this theatrical season.

I was talking to my wife about this. I don’t remember this album being that big until much later. I played it on my radio show in college but never on the charts. Lithium plays it like it was Teen Spirit.

Man theatre life is crazy. I just spent four weeks absolutely slammed working on two separate shows and getting them open with no days off. Today with the first preview of the second show, I have nothing to do. Me, BW3, and my PS5 are going to get reacquainted.

So Whitmire fucking wimped out again. He was a Republican doormat in the Texas House, he was a Republican doormat in the Texas Senate, he’s a Republican doormat as Mayor of Houston.

Get the fuck out of my city as fast as you can, you stooge.

Hook has said he’s going to go. If they play together, that reunion could freeze hell over.

I’m seeing Peter Hook again this fall. Singing LWTUA at the top your lungs with 100’s of like minded individuals is a religious experience.

I’ve felt the same about Joy Division. Rolling Stone declared “Love Will Tear Us Apart” one of the best 500 rock songs and NME named it the greatest single. I’m glad New Order got some love too, but it’s been a long ass wait.

It isn’t quite the iPod, but I use those these days. It plays flac files, which makes my audio nerd self happy. There are mods for it to to make it “smarter”.
