Those nations that have accepted the invitation to the Board of Peace are a *lot* less democratic than those that have rejected it.

An interesting project that seeks a new set of liberal answers to the social disintegration that MAGA keeps using as their excuse to purge immigrants:

Understandable. Find your community, get organized, and try (as much as humanly possible) to avoid feeding into hyper-partisanship. Git it!

I recommend supporting Sally's List, a progressive nonprofit dedicated to training progressive women candidates for office in the state. It's also a great idea to get involved with the Democratic party in your town. If you prefer Independent style, get involved with Let's Fix This.

2026 is the year we level up The Pulaski Institution in our mission to promote democracy in the heartlands.

I’m so proud of what we’ve done so far on an almost non-existent budget, and I know we have a unique vision that is more relevant than ever.

Won’t you join us?

Discussing religion and democracy with @hollybfletcher.bsky.social at a @pulaskiinstitution.bsky.social event was truly a joy. Did I take two pieces of art off her hands? You betcha. Will I drag her to OU to discuss her new book? Obviously. Stay tuned!

How Christian Nationalist Rhetoric Can Influence Elections Across Race Allyson Shortle, Ph.D., is an associate professor and director of graduate studies in political science at the University of Oklahoma and a 2024-2025 PRRI Public Fellow. Michael R. Fisher Jr., Ph.D.

Christian nationalism! Experiments! Local! For my spotlight with @mrfisherjr.bsky.social, we test the effect of CN rhetoric and race on mobilization and decision-making in local elections, w. a @prri.org-funded experiment: prri.org/spotlight/ho... Spoiler: CN talk hurts candidates for local office.

My work is all mass-level, so I don't classify individuals as CN unless they self label, or answer @prri.org's 5-question CN battery for me. But, many individuals use Christian nationalist rhetoric, in all sorts of ways. We never know if "CN talk" reflects values or simple means to political ends.

I was happy to visit OETA to discuss what's at stake in the Supreme Court's St. Isadore v Drummond case. Thank you to @prri.org, whose data I mention to highlight the tension this outcome could have with popular opinion on religion's role in government and education. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ebuZ...

Just out at @poqjournal.bsky.social. Why is it critical to consider race when discussing Christian nationalism? Because it often works differently for White & minoritized adults, often corresponding to racial in-group interests & identities. It's not *always* reactionary IOW. doi.org/10.1093/poq/...
