This hasn’t been a great showcase for the 2024 draft class.

When the Jazz are good and trying to win, I would love Harkless to be on the roster with the role of just going in and causing havoc for 5 - 6 minutes.

I absolutely love how Sarah calls out the audacity of the NBA telling Jazz fans how they should feel. Also false: Star players are upset they are not playing and the team is tanking….while they seem perfectly content on the sidelines. Cause they know gambling > revenue > higher salaries.

I think the only thing left is to petition for you to represent the Jazz at the Lottery?

Yeah. Adam Silver is not a very popular right now in Utah. It’s a fan base that is hungry not just for a winning team, but a championship team, which is what this whole process is all about…developing a team that, despite the odds of being a small market with the “Utah” reputation, can get it.

Seriously, though…it’s easy to say that in June, and then reality hits during the season.

It’s not just teams are tanking. It’s teams that have massively benefited from tanking in the past(i.e. OKC Thunder) pressuring the NBA and media to prevent their rivals (Utah Jazz) from benefiting from tanking now, which would also surrender Utah’s draft pick to OKC.

All this is is OKC ramping up pressure on the Jazz to play their guys so the Jazz win more games and increase the probability for them getting the pick.

Ben Anderson does a nice job here outlining the absurdity of some of the commentary surrounding the Jazz’s recent strategies to develop young players at the expense (sometimes) of wins. The problem is, they still may be too good to lose enough games…we’ll see.

That is a coach who knows he has job security…the scene that got me…the Jazz are down 2 after blowing a 19 point lead and the camera pans to Lauri, Nurk, and Love laughing and joking…they know the bigger picture here.

Don’t blame the Teams. It’s the system that they have been given…they just do it within the framework of what the NBA allows. It would be organizational malpractice for the Jazz to actively win games…unless you want OKC to win the finals for the next 15 years.

Really interested to see how the Jazz approach this 2nd half. They have enough cushion where they may go after this game; or, do they rest JJJ and Lauri during 4th quarter?

You can already see the vision…when JJJ is in, there just isn’t much space for the Magic to get good quality shots…

And then the Jazz are just punishing mismatches on the others side. It isn’t perfect, but you have to be excited if you are a Jazz fan.
