So are you, by not calling for impeachment

In the same manifesto, Palantir's owners argued that we need a national military draft, that soft power is over, and that we were too hard on Germany and Japan after World War II. I don't think that company should be allowed to exist anymore.

Opinion | Jamie Raskin’s push for 25th Amendment to end Trump presidency is a mistake Andy Craig: The 25th Amendment is no substitute for impeachment. A proposed panel of doctors and ex-politicians can’t replace Congress doing its job.

"Every day spent talking about a Rube Goldberg machine for medically diagnosing Trump is a day not spent building the case for the only real solution ... Impeachment is the tool Congress has to address [Trump's crimes], and its oath-sworn obligation demands it use it."

Note to Democrats: Stop punching left. The left is fighting mad and the words we use are "Fuck ICE" and "IMPEACH" and "SHUT IT ALL DOWN." Maybe you'd get somewhere if you used those words, too.

Impeachment is the remedy offered by the Constitution for this current crisis.

In this excellent piece, Andy Craig @andycraig.bsky.social lays out the reasons why the 25th amendment plan that has been proposed isn't what we need.

This tendency reached maybe its peak cowardice when folks started leaning back in their armchairs and casually “forecasting” the outcome of the Epstein scandal

This has pissed me off since Trump’s first term. A lot of middle-aged men watched fascism dawning and said, “Activism? Haha, not for me, thanks! My role here will be ‘neutral forecaster of events’”

He does! Honest question though: what does “with teeth” mean when Trump is president? Many people thought the Emoluments Clause had teeth, the Insurrection Clause, whichever statute forbids looting the Treasury…what will actually bind this guy except handcuffs?

“In some permanent way” has to start with Trump being removed from office. You know this, I know this. Could everyone with a sizable audience start saying it loudly, please?

You're implying that it's not already illegal - in other words, you're covering for him.

Demand his impeachment and removal, or resign.

Aided and abetted by a Congress that refuses to force impeachment votes

But you still haven’t called for impeachment. You part of the grift, Chris? You getting paid off? Are you gonna call for his impeachment or are you gonna resign from the Senate?

Every Congressperson waffling on impeachment should be assumed corrupt and should constantly be asked “You getting a cut? You gonna resign?” until they impeach

Even "failed" impeachments matter:

✅ Publicly listing Trump's many crimes;

✅ Forcing members of Congress who are complicit to own their part in his criminality and corruption publicly in the Congressional record (i.e., forever);

✅ Rallying voters to believe in democracy.

Democratic Leaders Resist Effort to Impeach Trump on Iran Democratic leaders are urging against efforts within the party to impeach Trump before the midterms, say those involved in the debate

But the Democratic Party has not, en masse, deemed Trump's behavior unacceptable. Its leadership is still squashing impeachment talk and propping up rape culture.

So the Democratic base, en masse, needs to deem this leadership unacceptable.

Impeachment is the thing that members of Congress do if they believe the president is a threat to democracy. Not impeaching a president is how Congress indicates that they do not believe the president is a threat to democracy. When Congress won't impeach, then its actions shout the lie
"Trump is not a threat," while their lips whisper the truth that he is. They are yelling
"fire!" and then sitting back down in the burning building. They are indicating that not only will they not fight the fire now, but they are showing people (whether they mean to or not) that they never will.

If no one in Congress even tries, formally, to put Trump’s crimes on the record the institution’s silence will be read as assent in the future. www.the-reframe.com/impeachment-...

Sad to see another white man bow to right-wing political correctness and the purity tests that forbid criticizing guys like Platner, lest the offender be shunned and labeled one of the slurs Platner types love

ANY member of the House of Representatives may force a vote on impeachment via Rule IX. It would be a simple majority vote **unlike the 25th, which requires 70+ more R votes.**

He's weak. He's failing. He's increasingly unhinged. He's extremely unpopular.

It's way past time.

Impeach him, @aoc.bsky.social.

Force a vote via Rule IX. Do it tomorrow.

Make every member of the House go on the record, publicly. Compel the GOP to own it and broadcast to their voters in no uncertain terms that, "Yes, we think this guy should continue to be in charge."
