I'm lucky to have had lots of encounters with adders over the years, but I have to say I can still remember my first as though it was yesterday! So thrilling.

It never gets any less thrilling either!

Sun's out, snake's out! My first adder of the year. My phone said 3degrees - the coldest and earliest I've ever seen a snake, I think. Always a pleasure to welcome them back to the wild!

Fantastic to find these stunning Scarlet Elf Cups at Hill Hook nature reserve in Sutton Coldfield! It is said that wood elves would drink the morning dew from within this fabulous fungi! Now's the time to spot them on fallen sticks amongst the leaves, especially in damp places.
