Man, ALIENS is just such a great movie. Shame we never got a sequel, since you'd think there'd be so many fun stories to tell about Ripley and her new family.

Cameron's dialogue has always been the easiest thing to knock, but "You always were an asshole, Gorman" followed by him producing the grenade is the sort of note perfect, 11/10 character writing that other screenwriters spend their entire career chasing.

What a testament to Bill Paxton that Jimmy C. handed him a character that was nothing but unlikability personified and even still when he gets got you can't help but go, "Aw, poor Hudson".

ALIENS has been remade and ripped off so many times that this sort of trick doesn't really sing anymore. You know the character types that exist to become cannon fodder, so it's no longer a surprise for the chill, understated guy to go the distance. But it works a real treat here.
