Before you get started This is a game about two people in an adversarial relationship, unsure if they want to kill each other or fuck each other. Physical confrontation is something they both want, but will never admit to (such an intolerable display of earnestness!). This kind of dynamic (often described as āConsensual non-consentā in fiction writing) is, of course, a terrible kind of relationship to have in real life. Please do not fuck a detective to avoid being arrested. During play, itās strongly advised to use an RPG safety tool of your choice as a way of formally checking in on your fellow player. There are also points during the flow of play where players are encouraged to discuss and adjust what their characters aim to do to each other before you roll dice about it. Either way, itās worth discussing the following before starting: How much do we see of The Killerās murders? How much is The Detective operating within the law? Does The Detective fight or hurt people who arenāt The Killer?"

When someone is on the brink of losing their patience, roll. The Socialite Ball A luxury gala with all the whoās-who of the city is in full swing. The main hall is scattered with paparazzi and overly chatty celebrities, but the venue has a number of back rooms for more private conversations. The Detective has snuck in following an unrelated case, who are they tailing? The Killer has been dragged here in an obligation to someone else, why couldnāt they say no? When the Killer and Detective meet, and their animosity threatens to draw attention, roll. The Getaway The Killer is putting the final touches on their latest work. Everythingās been precisely arranged to leave whoever discovers it in awe and confusion. However, the Detectiveās investigation and instincts have him rapidly closing in. They both think of the otherās expression and smile. The Killerās work takes a while to do correctly. Where is the murder being done, and whatās taking so long to finish? The Detectiveās tracking of the Killer was suspiciously easy this time. What clue or calling card did he leave behind? Just before the Detective sees the Killer leave the crime scene, roll."
