Sanders: When historians write about this dangerous moment in American history, when they write about courage and sacrifice, the people of Minnesota will deserve a special chapter.. In the face of unprecedented occupation, this community fought back and won.

I think if folks are annoyed about No Kings rallies, or any activity they think is insufficient, they should take that as a sign to organize better for what they want people to do. Organizing is at least partly about asking people to do one or more things that they actually don’t have to do.

Why Was Minnesota's Resistance to ICE the Strongest Yet? We asked five organizers to take us inside the Twin Cities' response.

"Minnesotans stood up to ICE and stood them down."

"How did it happen?"

"Hammer & Hope spoke with local organizers involved at every level [..] to understand what made the Minnesota resistance effective."

Nice to see KARE 11 throwing some time and effort into this story - the gist of the reporting is in the right neighborhood, but some details are worth clarifying or exploring a bit further…

Nate’s right, and it applies to the whole business community and their supplicant business press. The administration is trying to extinguish our economy and they’re silent or punching left or straining to both-sides a cataclysm. (Thanks to the small biz folk who’ve been so brave.)

This makes me feel better. I’ve been foggy. Forgetting things. Losing track of things. I forgot someone’s name who I totally know. I was getting a little alarmed.

1000 of them have been deemed illegal detainments by courts and the glut of court cases are just now moving through the system. I do not believe it will be even close to 4k deportations in the end.

Really? It’s so boring but interspersed with ghoulish murder stories. But he gets graded on a curve. So you are probably right.

She’s raised almost $20m to help Minnesota – she thinks you can do it too Ashley Fairbanks launched Stand with Minnesota as ICE raids rocked her home town – now donations are pouring in, and families’ rent is being paid

I need to address this immediately, because I am WAY too Minnesotan to ever claim credit for this.

I built a thing to point the fire hose of people's generosity in the right direction. That's it.

I am thankful for the piece, because hopefully it means people will donate more money.

Gallego: "They're going and racially profiling people and rounding up Americans until they can prove their citizenship. That money came from kicking millions and millions of Americans off Medicaid. It was the same bill. They cut Medicaid to expand ICE."

A screenshot of People Over Papers’ ICE reporting map. The map resets at 4 am ET every day. In Minnesota, over 100 reports have been filed today, with the overwhelming majority in and around the Twin Cities.

Stay safe. Fuck ICE.

Still around 100 community reports of ICE activity around the Twin Cities today, the most of any state by far.

In case you’re wondering why so many of us aren’t quite taking Homan’s presser today at face value.

There has been no draw down today. ICE snatched someone off Central Ave out of his car because he looked Latino before then letting him go a couple hours later. They were stopping people in Blaine on highway 65, they were all around Fridley, and were in the parking lot of the St Anthony liquor store

We need to talk MORE about the ICE death camps. Incessantly. Make it an unavoidable topic.

We need to stop them.

This is the aftermath of an ICE kidnapping a few blocks from my home in St. Paul—an hour ago. A quiet street full of broken glass and at least three wrecked cars. The target of the kidnapping was taken away by ambulance. He was on a stretcher and covered by a sheet, though a cop said he was alive.

in fact you do not have to show your ID when you board a train in the united states, you only need to show your ticket (which can be purchased without an ID)

No one can deny that ICE under this Administration is being overly aggressive, violating people's rights, and endangering the lives of U.S. citizens and law abiding immigrants. We cannot move forward without commonsense reforms.

By the way, for those of you not in MN: Homan’s strategy was to withdraw some agents, so it felt like we were in the denouement of the crisis, and then escalate hard against observers. They’re being incredibly aggressive with observers now. National media may not want to check out just yet

Public backlash over fatal ICE shootings of US citizens threatens President Trump’s political standing. A new Marist poll shows 65% of Americans say enforcement goes too far. The data signals a collapse of his 2024 coalition as independents and Latinos exit, isolating his base.
