Happy Famesick day!!!

Are the people on that corner like.. selling cigarettes? I cannot figure out what they’re doing and why they choose that spot specifically
In 2023, I passed legislation investing in transit safety. Now, thanks to our dedicated TRIP agents, we’re seeing the results. Riders are feeling safer, enforcement is up, and bad behavior is down.
Proud of this work!!
They did not call it funeral bread
The cinnamon bread/Cheez-Wiz/green olives appetizer is actually surprisingly fine! Both my grandmas made it (SW Minnesota and eastern South Dakota)
In 2016, I covered a case in Willmar similar to this. a distracted driver killed a cyclist on a rural road. driver got probation and community service. www.wctrib.com/news/new-lon...

Looking east at a protective cover over the trail and remaining bridge peers of the 10th Ave Bridge
Protective trail cover from falling debris over the Greenway Trail
Freestanding bridge piers amidst a pile of rubble
A piece of concrete hangs off of a piece of rebar against brick inside of a bridge pier
The Midtown Greenway is open again at 10th Ave as all parts over the trail were demolished. We have a new tunnel for the time being, I'm hoping this will mean limited closures this summer.

Did you know that our streets could be safer just by placing traffic signals on the near side of an intersection?
Countries around the world with safer streets use this strategy. we should do it here too!
Aliya Rahman, woman who was dragged out of car by ICE in Minneapolis: "I've spent the last month learning the names of the tendons in my shoulder, because both of my shoulders are torn -- cartilage and tendons. But what I haven't learned is the names of the people who did this to me."

among my favorite French Revolution details: the King's cousin, the Duke of Orleans, was so shook by the events of the revolution that he not only voted to execute his cousin but legally changed his name to Equality Phil.
Sometimes you just have to admire the simplicity of websites circa 1999, and especially places who haven't updated them since... www.eagles34.org/events-enter...
Axios had a story today about how hard Minnesota’s economy is being hit and how slow the recovery could be. So, I’m going to take this opportunity to say that if you want to support the Twin Cities, you should plan a visit for this summer, spend some money here, & see how amazing it is for yourself.
One of my absolute favorite bookshops sent out a newsletter saying they could really use some love. Once Upon a Crime is a killer shop and they have been demonstrating, observing, helping to collect mutual aid, you name it. Stop by or order online! onceuponacrimebooks.com
I can’t quite think of how to adequately describe this ride today so I’m stealing Eric’s words, plus a few pics from me.
Bicycle out of focus, hand holding a tamale.
Large group of cyclists stopped on Nicollet Ave.
The Memorial bicycle ride for Alex Pretti was very cathartic. It was great to be in community. I skipped lunch to make it and was super excited that folks were handing out tamales for free before the ride!
The group bike ride for Alex Pretti is about to depart in Minneapolis, stopping at his memorial, then Renee Good’s, and finishing at the VFW. If you can join, hop on anywhere. It’s a warm 17° & sunny!
I’ve never seen this many cyclists for a group ride. ⚡️✊🏽⚡️🚲⚡️✊🏽⚡️ #RIPPretti
I feel bad that I’ve missed the last couple events due to work/travel but it seems like we’ll have plenty more reasons to keep protesting 🥲
20-30k today?!!
This is Brad Lander doing pulltabs in the Uptown VFW. He’s one of us now

Photos of Alex Pretti with Sara’s caption: On August 16th at approximately 10:00 pm I received a call from the ICU at the VA saying my Dad had sepsis and needed to be intubated to stay alive so Josh and I headed in. We were greeted by the kindest, most calming and warm soul who helped us understand what was happening and showed deep care for us and my Dad. He continued to show utmost patience and kindness over the next few days as my Dad remained in the ICU and we were there continually. It was Alex Pretti, the man shot today by ICE. If you see this video and don't think it's murder, I don't understand your thinking and ask you to question your heart. He was out there trying to help and protect and from the little we knew of him, it doesn't surprise me he was not afraid to be on the front lines of this horrible scene in our Minneapolis. Weeping for his family and all those at the VA who no longer get to work with him or receive his care.
My friend Sara posted this about the superb care her father received from with Alex Pretti
Absolutely heartbreaking
