Its Christmas in NC, and I had to cut my AC back on. ๐

Merry Christmas and happy holidays, y'all.
I dunno guys. I don't have any new horror to plug. Y'all want to read something I wrote about a deck of cards?

Is pushing out the center of Reese's Cups still a thing?
On top of that, we *watch* TV, but *see* a movie.
I found this cool little book when I was out thrifting the other day.

Remember what I said the other day about going downtown? Its worse. I'm in a "district".
When you adjust all of that for inflation, according to BLS, that's about $475 for rent, $788 for 3 days in the hospital, and less than $10 for groceries for two adults.
You know. Just to put things into perspective.
I can remember my grandfather telling me once that when my mother was born in 1956, he was paying $40/mo rent on 2 bedroom house. The hospital bill for her birth was $65. On the way home, he bought a pound of ground meat, a loaf of bread, a tomato, lettuce, and mayo. He got change back on $1.
I know that I'm old because I hate going downtown. The parking. And the walking. And the finding the place. And the one way streets. If you ask me to do something downtown, and I do it, then know that I love you.
On the one hand, how has it been a whole year since I saw Nosferatu at Alamo? On the other, shit it's only been a single year?
Thank you! I try to be anyway. Honestly, thank you for commenting. Had you not, I might never have started reading The Half Brother. I only started it last night, but so far it's very good.
I admit was unfairly targeting Costco (who has at least tried to be decent) rather than thinking about what I was actually frustrated with. I'm just finding it hard to believe right now that there is much hope left to be had that things will improve for anyone.
Hey, sorry. I didn't mean to sound outraged, just frustrated I guess. I've read a few stories today. You're absolutely right, and they all said as much. Over the last year I noticed that they did keep a lot of prices pretty darn stable, including beef which had its own market drama to contend with.
So if Costco gets all that tariff money refunded, they're going to refund it to all their customers right, or at least use it to lower prices back down to what they were a year ago, right?
Everything ends up on r/isthisAI and everything always is AI whether it is or not.
I don't really know what I'm doing any more than y'all do. And y'all don't know any more than me.
At least that's what I tell myself anyway.
Anyone else just always hungry for no good reason?
For those unaware, Mavericks are being printed in the USA again.

I've been told I should promote them all. Anyone for some #cribbage?

Sometimes I don't pause the show I'm streaming so I can remember what the 90s were like.
What do you do when the query grind gets you down? You start a blog about your obscure hobbies of course.

Calling all card magicians and playing card collectors. I'm soft launching a new project. Check it out.

Nostalgia over vinyl records gave way to cassette tapes, and now hipster kids are out there buying CDs because it's an antique technology.
Does anyone do smarmy piece of shit as well as Justing Long?
Up first, dishes and Weapons.
Got the week off. So that means housework, writing, auditions, and catching up on horror movies.
They know it intellectually, but they don't understand how tendrilous it is, that it touched so many parts of your daily life.
It's on the 50s in NC today and I got the windows open for that free AC.
