i don't care if PJ's plot would've been a mess if it used stuff from the two subseries. A game like that is better off being a noncanon fanservice fest anyway. Don't combine the PM and M&L subseries if you're too chicken to pander to THOSE fanbases in particular. Would've rather had a regular M&L-

I disagree that it even does that. The "parallel world" in Paper Jam appears in that game and that game only, I refuse to even entertain the idea that it speaks for the prior PM games in any capacity. If it had bothered using anything from them i might have been more open to it, but as it stands no.

And Wart wasn't in Bowser's army either but nobody's whining about him being out of place. The movies can change little things since they're a distinct take on the world. Even just in that sketch, they translated Rawk Hawk perfectly to non-PM style, proving their designs aren't incompatible.

I disagree, I think all the original designs from the original Paper Marios enrich the universe, the only ones that might be a problem are SPM's characters but they're from another dimension so their weirdness is intentional in that story. TTYD's characters fit fine, even the original species.
