Yes, seriously. And of course atheists have done all of the above. Even atheism has extremists. Any ideology that has an in group and an out group has conflict at the extremes.

For example, WWI, WWII, Vietnam, Korea, etc. all not religious based. War is mostly about resource guarding or gaining.
