@ellen-friedman.bsky.social Hi again Ellen. Discovered a book the other day which I think you may enjoy. I’m not a poetry chap at all nor a Greek mythology buff, but this book, written in verse, is absorbing and a work of genius.

Very nice it is too. Light being the essence of watercolour you have captured the essence wonderfully. Squint you say, squint at this painting and it becomes Turneresque

Great colours

Yes it is very lovely - we missed it last year. It is located at the top of an ancient prehistoric Hill Fort. One part is very steep which we can no longer manage to walk up, but it is easy to imagine all borders being repelled. We now approach over a shallower route consisting of burial barrows

It was at the time - couldn’t drive. Then 2 weeks ago I was rushed to hospital with a suspected stroke and my BP was at 217/106 and in that region for a few hours.

I feel a Rendition coming on. If you don’t here from me again try looking in Guantanamo

Thank you. I must post here more often. I was at the Bluebell Wood at the ancient Badbury Hill Fort last week. Wonderful display

Thank you Ellen but No. I lost internet for 3 weeks and then I fell ill with very low BP which affected my ability in many ways.

Today was about getting over fear of a blank page, proportions, Drawing from outside in and drawing negative space to bring out the shapes.
Shall revisit in due course to complete pencil tonal drawing and then a watercolour. I’ll let this phase of the course finish first.

Ok trying to get back into the swing of things. I can’t draw so taking a basic drawing course. Here is day 1 with a contour drawing of a satsuma in pencil. Added a little shading to delineate some of the outline.

Don’t laugh, I’ll get there!

I’ll be getting into the book more over the coming weeks. In it he did say he saw Treasures painting displayed in the window of the exhibition gallery and knew straight away he had to buy it.
He beat me to it by a few decades 👍😉

Haha thank you again Ellen. I like to think I have an appreciative eye.
When it comes to ‘doing’ I’m afraid I’m a continual beginner. After receiving this book I’ll be beginning again but from Step 2 now 😉
