It has always been like this to some extent but, once again I am forced to repeat, the accumulation of capital has reached a critical mass where we now have entire industries at the whim of moneyed execs who don't give a fuck about the work or the people. We're all speculative assets.

And by the way this is only part of the solution.
Those in smaller companies (like myself) aren't safe from any of that. Big layoffs in medium to large companies aren't the issue, they're a symptom of an industry wide concentration of power and capital that affects smaller companies as well.
