I’ve been having technical problems with my phone that are too boring to even talk about but the side effect is that I’ll go a full day without really looking at it and not really know what’s going on in the world. So uh.

It’s Fat Tuesday, lunar new year and first day of Ramadan. I hope somewhere there’s somebody delighted about all 3!

Went to get a duck in oakland chinatown and was surprised that everyone was speaking mandarin. I gave up ordering in mandarin In sf years ago since English was just as good for the canto speakers

how *would* you explain this. "imagine if the only company making serious investments in JavaScript was, like, Mailchimp, and the language's only killer app/framework was written by JK Rowling, whose own business was utterly insignificant"

Baby led weaning is a scam by people who like eating cold eggs.

Riddle me this!!! You make an egg to share with your baby either YOU eat it cold or THEY eat BY THEMSELVES.

it's so funny to see America's health insurance companies be like "look. If there's one thing we love it's denying you care. but we ran the numbers - and we cannot BELIEVE we're saying this - and it's cheaper for us to just pay for the vaccines than deal with you going to the ER."

I grew up in the South so I have heard from many a white person argue passionately that they don’t care what somebody says they just care how they say it. It took leaving the South to realize this meant that they didn’t care what somebody said as long as they were also white or agreed with them.

People missing an important point about folks getting fired for whatever they said about Charlie Kirk: Americans are being conditioned to be snitches on their fellow citizens who don’t toe a party line on what is “allowed” to be expressed. And employers are going along. It’s the new secret police

Found a late season volunteer sungold in a corner of my garden (probably from seeds that dropped last year - volunteer tomatoes tend to not start really fruiting until now bc they don’t germinate until it gets warmer) and I decided to lovingly stake and water and fertilize it for a few weeks.
