Cleaning house - came across this folder of music I transcribed from neumatic notation for a class in grad school. Also I think I’m just going to recycle it - haven’t looked at it or thought about it since completing the class.

As a music teacher, I face daily bafflement from students as to why they cannot just sound great without trying very hard. They absolutely do not understand the correlation.
We had to fight the system hard for years to keep my son in orchestra when he was struggling in other classes. Admin just assumed we would be ok with pulling him out of the only class he felt like he was good at and wanted to go to. Still get angry thinking about it.
Yeah I couldn’t figure It out either.

Whenever someone asks me why I chose teaching (usually in context of some kind of professional development workshopping) I always say “because health insurance.” It always gets a few snickers but I’m serious.

When my Mooradian finally wore out my luthier sold me a Bobelock case. I have been pleased with it - padding is thick and firm, and everything about it feels heavy-duty. Very stiff and rugged.
